FOR ALL PEOPLE READING THE THREAD FOR THE FIRST TIME

A question was asked about what this thread meant to people.

The following reply by member TrulyMadly, sums up the ethos of the ELITE thread to perfection!:T:T

    Morning paw sniffers

Thanks to this site....well where do I start:)

At risk of repeating myself , it has taught me the value of things as well as the cost. It has enhanced my life with a rich diversity of people....and I don't differentiate between online friends and real life friends....it is all meaningful. I am richer for knowing you all....and not just in monetary terms.....my life in enriched too. Rarely a day goes by when I'm not reduced to either tears of laughter.....or sadness or drawn into a situation where someone needs advice or support...I often feel humbled and blessed.......and I am probably more tolerant as a person than I used to be.

    The only downside.........it's bloomin addictive:D

    Thankyou TrulyMadly.

So all you newbies and lurkers out there, please do come and join in and you too will hopefully

benefit, in some way, from this wonderful thread.

    Very well said TM

    Translation:

She doesn't want to pay you to do her books, so is thinking of an excuse to avoid it.

This is a positive result. A little while back you said you didn't want to do her books but felt obliged to do the next VAT return(s) and wanted to stop at the end of the financial year. She has saved you the awkward conversation. Ok you don't like the reason, but this is the result you were looking for. If you want, you can tell her that you were thinking of dumping her work anyway as it wasn't paying. Or keep quiet and just think it.

Yes it is a positive result in a way but I would have liked to make the decision myself and finished the year out so it was tidy. Spoke to DD who told me it is probably for the best and I should keep away from her. I owe her a small amount of money and she has some of DS's stuff stored in her barn. So while she is away on holiday this week I will arrange to pick up the stuff and get together the money to give her. Best to make a clean break.

Have to say some of the stories about why people are on here have brought a tear to my eye. What a fantastic bunch of people you are xx
Cherish those you have in your life because you never know when they won't be there anymore.

No matter how you feel, get up, dress up & never give up.
  • Morning all

Lovin the "thanks to this thread" stories, but we need more please!

Thanks to this thread, I haven't used my overdraft for nearly 2 years, after having spent nearly 10 years in it.

I can buy myself nice things that I never, ever thought I'd be able to have. I used to do telephone banking every day to check my balance and work out if I could afford to buy something, something even as simple as the weekly shop :o

I've been able to take what I've learned from you lot and put it in a little book for my parents, so they can benefit too.

I don't have to choose between gas/electric and food.

Like others, I've found myself with more virtual friends than I've got in RL. When I'm feeling low, you guys pick me up. I can share the highs and lows of my life with y'all :)

Almost made the morning slot but then RL got in the way :( but just wanted to requote QoC's post as so much of it applies to me. In fact, are you me Qoc? :rotfl:

Thanks to this thread my family have never lived so well and we have a lot to be thankful for. Its not just an MSE thread - it is so much more :A
