  • Morning Everybody

Hooray at last I have joined the 1p club.
I noticed the pencil cases with spots, not very exciting I know but had to join in the fun.

Hope everybody is doing well, anxiety is getting the better of me at the moment and struggling to leave the village but I have no choice today as I am taking DS to football this afternoon. Panicking a little going to a large stadium just the 2 of us (my dh normally takes him but working)

I apparently have to follow all his usual rituals so I may get lost in London.

    Speak soon xxx
    Now on the 5:2 diet.

    Lost 25 1/2 lbs :j:j:j 33 1/2 lbs to go

I blitzed the bedroom before I did the bed, and found some very old books that I inherited, but had completely forgotten about, tucked in an under bed drawer.
Any ideas where I can find out if they're worth anything? There are several volumes of Lord Byron's works, dated from 1804 to about 1827, nicely bound, some a bit worn, and some fairly tatty. They include Don Juan, The Doge of Venice, A Tragedy, The Siege of Corinth, and books of poems. I've had a search, but not any luck. It occurred to me that as there is such a diversity of knowledge on this thread, besides glitching, one of you clever people may be able to help me.

I am not clever but I do love my books.:D
Not sure if anyone has answered you yet but I usually use Alibrisuk, (100 million books)
Click rare books, fill in either author name, book title, if 1st edition, just inside the first few pages you will find the book printer name usually above that there will be numbers, this will tell you what edition it is, if not a 1st click collectables then sort by uk sellers, this will cut out all the usa sellers, who seems to overprice everything, there is also more option at the top of the screen to help locate exactly what you wanted, like condition of book, this will give you a good indication what each book is worth
Also Abebooks have (140 million books)
Forgot to say the best way of tracing a book is using the ISBN number usually found on the back of the book or on the dust jacket, you could do a ISBN search but you will find you have to search through a lot of info about the book before you get to the price

Vouchercrazy thanks for this. I can't find an isbn for any of the books, so it looks as if I need to search by book description and use the small bit of info in the front of the books, such as publisher, date etc as you suggest.
    Thanks again.

Good morning all. New mattress is lovely, slept through til 7am. I seem to have broken the cycle of the biphasic sleep pattern that irritated me so much. It left me so tired because I wanted to go back to sleep when it was time to get ready to go to work. I resorted to Nytol tablets over the last two weeks, and have had the last four nights without, and slept through.:D
Hope you all have a good day, and if the glitch fairy or Mad is listening, a coffee glitch would be much appreciated:D

What are you celebrating a wedding or something?

A midweek birthday with a 0 at the end seems to have turned into a double weeked of celebrations either side. Will need a detox from tomorrow, it has been worse than Christmas as far as eating and drinking go :beer:
