In the feb Asda magazine there is an advert for properbrewpromise for yorkshire decaf teabags. Something tells me these aren't going to be as good as my usual ones(lol).
Lovely sa scanning two boxes full of pental stationery today teling me that some of them are going through at 1p - something I already knew. Cannot believe they were priced at £8 - who in there right mind would pay that price - a penny more like it. She said we can't sell them at that price - I said different to what it says on tes facebook page. Apparently our store is being altered in march/may hopefully more space for pricing errors and glitches.

Practice - the more times you do it the easier it is, so get started :D

:) I tend to have a basket full of stuff and put the things I want most at the top. Just keep scanning, but have 50p or whatever in your hand. If anyone comes to have a nose, calmly press finish and pay asap and pop your money in the machine - once paid for its yours :D Quite often they think you are finished and lose interest or wander off to see to someone else, so just stay put and start on the next batch from your basket, coin in hand and so on. Make sure you scan all the tried and tested 1pers first - leave any guesses/try outs till last in case they make the machine have a hissy fit :) I prefer to put through in smaller batches just in case it goes wrong somewhere, and then at least I get to take home as many goodies as poss. Often scan 4 or 5 shops straight afte each other.

Or sometimes I pick up a dozen items, scan and pay, wander back to pick up another dozen, and so on.

By far the coolest way is to pull a full box off the top shelf and get the SA to put through as a multiple - not for the faint hearted and have never been brave enough to do this - yet :) Only time I have been brave enough to ask the SA to put through as multiples was when the Hartleys jellies were glitching, and we were picking up several of the 12 trays at a time - can't remember why now, but I know we were eating jelly for some considerable time :rotfl:

Go for it - you are dead lucky if you've got 20 plus items available to have a shot at :D

Very good advise I remember Lala getting 2 hundred boxes of cream eggs I was with her when she got the first hundred but chickened out:eek: when she went back in for the second lot. She used to do so many at a time then pay never did them all at once her logic was best have some rather than them take them all off you;)
  • Below is message I received from mr t via fb.
I wasn't going to complain as I didn't want to draw attention to the 1p items but as their thread was so busy with complaints last night I thought I would send a private message.
As echoed in other replys it seems they should have given in graciously.

I wouldnt mind but it was the only 1p item of any use to my family.
My mother adores the lindor caramel chocs but I bought her a box of the strawberry ones in sainsbobs tonight for £3 to make up for it.

The way I was treated I am so glad mum didn't try to find them herself.
Great whoopsies in my sainsbobs tonight. I imagine their footfall has been down the last few days

I'm saddened to learn about your recent experience of shopping in our store. Our staff members are trained to be polite friendly and helpful; anything less is most unsatisfactory.!I'd be most grateful if you could let me know the time you visited our store and a description of the staff member concerned? This will allow me to pass on the relevant information to our store to allow our Management Team to investigate this further.
In addition to this, there are rare occasions when discontinued products go beyond the "reduced to clear" period, and the value will be reduced to a penny on our tills. We look to remove these items from sale. We are not legally obliged to offer the customer products for 1p, as the Shelf Edge Label would have been marked up with the full price. However, the stores should be encouraged to allow the sale to go through for 1p.!

    8 x McVitie's Jaffa Cakes (12) £3.60 £9.52
    3 x Cadbury Dairy Milk Smooth Desserts (4x70g) £2.70 £7.74
    1 x Cadbury Caramel Smooth Desserts (4x70g) £0.90 £2.58
    1 x Johnson's Baby Shampoo No More Tangles (500ml) £1.35 £3.20

And these... aren't they already on my Tvs A post?;):rotfl: Notice you got the colleague again:(, with the 10% discount card bringing the Caramel Dessert down from £1 to 90p.

The Johnson's shampoo No More Tangles has been considered and not included on any list as, at 33.3p/100ml, it's way too expensive for me to pricematch. Now looking at 26.7p/100ml and then for that to be a rival of A so 10% off 26.7p/100ml (very precise figures - these shops strategically go down to certain values). I think I might be thinking of a 300ml No More Tangles A vs somewhere else - anyway, too expensive whatever it was. (26.7p etc. is also at a very push - as own brands now being preferred as generally cheaper - I'm thinking these Johnson's shampoos - When 'Value' Baby shampoo products at 9p, £1.50 looks very expensive (as does the £1.35 they got).

Eight packets of 12 JCs - were they thinking there was a glitch on or something?!?:D:rotfl::rotfl: Should be 24 pack vs elsewhere, at a push!

I'm back from my run :)

My foot was very well behaved. It feels good after, knowing you've pushed yourself to go that little bit faster and further for longer :D

Now to find food and die on the sofa :rotfl:

Hi there!:D No, there is still more to do as I need to save the M cheaper items onto a "MorriesAPG" shop list in Msm now. Additional ones that is to the ones I've already got on there!:rotfl::rotfl: (Now - was I correct in what I'd put on there so far?:rotfl:)

I've just got home though, and I'm hungry - as well as a little tired - so see you later!:) (I tend to have 'tiredness' things that last about an hour and then fully alert once again, so I'll probably be wide awake later this evening - I like night-times anyway as you probably know.)
