The big print giveth and the small print taketh away.

What a lesson in reading all of the information - especially the small print.

you could always contact the buyers (highest bidders) and warn them what they are buying.
    if you're that insensed?

A tip (other than avoiding anything saying ipod (coz 99.9999% are scams)....

The scammers tend to hide their 'get out' in small text in the middle of a massive 'blurb' (usually lifted from a website), so....

do a 'find' (Ctrl and F keys together) on the item and look for scammer words 'ebook, link, list, etc '.

Surely you should also be able to get your paypal or money back as it's against ebay regs to sell links etc??

Careful on this one - it can get you NARU'ed!!!!....

....SO MAKE SURE YOU USE A 'DISPOSABLE EBAY USER ID'

excuse the caps lock, can't be bothered to retype, although would have been quicker than typing this. A thought occurs to me... is there a shorthand way of saying 'sorry, caps lock got stuck and can't be bothered to re-type' - if not, I'm going to suggest XCAP or xcap or XCL (I wonder how long this would take to pass into common parlance??)
  • Shouldn't eBay have a category for eBooks and listing an eBook anywhere else would be disallowed and that way these scammers could maybe be stopped, or at least the poor sods that get reeled in by them might have some recourse.

Only a thought - I'm no expert on eBay so I'm probably talking rubbish.

Awww - on those links, 2 were bought by people with 0 feedback, so hopefully they are scamming the scammer, but the first one was bought for £112 by a real person - poor them :(

I got caught out once, buying something described and photographed as a pair - paid what I thought was fair for 2 items - received one! Went back and thoroughly re-read the blurb, amongst all the references to (for example dragon ornament) dragons, these dragons, etc, etc, found one very small line that said 'your dragon will be packaged....', which I had assumed to be a typo amongst all the other pics and references to multiples.

I am sure someone will say more fool me, but I did email the seller to state he needed to amend his advert, and he did.
"It was not my intention to do this in front of you. For that, I'm sorry. But you can take my word for it, your mother had it comin'."

Ebay used to be a great place..these people are just ruining it and it seems that it is all over the auction. Wonder how long before the sales of Ebay will start falling as people must be getting too cautious?

Seller now has -1 feedback! :j and buyer who "bought" left the negative:beer: http://feedback.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=ao241

Buyer must have known what they were doing and hopefully did a chargeback as with 85 feedback doesn't look like a throwaway bidding id...
