Virgin Media - cancelling and starting a new contract?

Hi all,

We have Virgin Media TV, internet and phone in my girlfriend's name. Can we cancel this and then start a new contract in my name as a new customer and therefore qualify for new customer offers?

If your still in your contract period it's not going to be a good idea.

If your at the end if your contract, just tell them your thinking of leaving and have an idea of what you want to pay a month. Don't say yes straight away and see if the deal is good enough.

They may try to confuse you, so work it out after the call

If the OP is still in the minimum term he can't cancel full stop.

I'm pretty sure it will be obvious anyhow that the address is already cabled up and that the same customer is still living at that address. The only way to get new customer deals is to cancel for a period and do without any services, this period is 12 months for Sky and (I believe) six months for Virgin.
