Just a quick reminder to peeps....... ALWAYS check your bank statements!!! try to do online if you can as much quicker and easier to cancel things!

someone I know mentioned how the bank told them they have an awful lot of standing orders going out, they didn't even realise! they were paying for recovery breakdown twice, insurance for a camera they no longer own! for years!

have told them to contact the companies and ask for a refund - you never know... they can only say no.

so your challenge this week is by Monday have checked your bank statements and cancel any dd/standing orders you no longer need!

And make sure of any that are due to be taken out.
  • Just checked my bank as saw that RBS/Natwest had corrected their interest screw-up and found £1.10 to add to my total.

Just found £36 in an old account that I'd long forgotten about, in fact I only found it when I transferred banks to the Halifax and it showed up on online banking.

Got £3.80 on the Tesco price guarantee, can we include that? I almost always get money back on that, Tesco's seem to be keen to prove to me that they're more expensive.

As I said I am adding two months together to make one month so target still the same of £10 a day.

By the way Aesop - do will still have the same challenger number as I am using my one from last year ??

Will try to catch up on all your news over the next couple of days but meanwhile hope you all have a fantastic Friday
