Driving instructor, taken my money

I'd maybe be wary of turning up on his doorstep too. What means of contact do you have? Does he provide a landline number or a mobile? Is he in the phone book? The majority of our local instructors used their home numbers so quite often you'd end up speaking to a wife or partner0

It's not a particularly small community, a town of 60,000. We have an active Facebook page for the town, he's often recommended when the question of driving instructors comes up. My colleague recommended him personally. The only enquiries I could perhaps make would be on the town Facebook page.
There's only a mobile number, his address is on his website, I do know where he lives.:beer:0 -
Thanks for all the suggestions, btw. Does anyone know the answer to my trading standards question? Is this sort of thing in their remit?:beer:0

Look him up in the phone book? Give him a call?0 -
Not in the phone book macca, not many people are these days.:beer:0

Throw yourself in front of his car next time you see him out and about, that should surely get his attention

Did you get a receipt for the payment. If not and you went to trading standards it could turn into a case of he said she said, and you won't get very far.
There's every possibility that something has happened and that he's only keeping to prebooked tests at the moment. Who knows? The best thing you can do is try to sort things out amicably.

I'd call round at his house if you have his address.
Do you still want the lessons or a refund?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Trading Standards are unlikely to do anything other than take the details and add it to their existing file/create a new file if its the first complaint about him.
They rarely act on behalf of an individual complaint.
If he has an address on his website, i'd either visit there or write a letter saying you're concerned as you'd paid money but havent been receiving any reply.
Alternatively, tag him in a post on your own facebook (if you have him as a friend/have liked his business page) wall asking if anyone knows if he's still in business as you paid £290 last month and have been calling him but havent received any sort of reply yet.
He might be able to stop it appearing on his own page but he cant stop it appearing on yours! You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride0 -
I'm pretty sure he could untag his name from any post of mine. What about the small claim court?
I've had an idea, I might get a friend to enquire about lessons, see if she gets a call back fom him.:beer:0
