Cancelling Free Credit Report

Hi All,
I signed up for a free credit report with Myreport.co.uk. I cancelled by email immediately after receiving the report. I had an email form them this morning saying my account had been activated.
I was a bit concerned about this so I phoned my bank and was told that the DD was waiting to go out of my account. It has been put on hold and I will speak to the bank disputes team on Monday morning.
I also phoned the number Myreport provided and I have just had one of the most bizarre conversations I have ever had when complaining about a service.
The lady I spoke to sounded as if she had just woken up (this was after enduring 10 minutes of spiel and muzak clearly designed to maximise their profits). In fact she probably had just woken up because she told me that I should really phone in normal business hours. She then informed me that she was in Florida and it was 6 am there. When it became clear that she couldn't answer my queries I asked to be put through to a supervisor or manager. She said she couldn't because it was too early. I asked for an email for a manager or supervisor - guess what - she didn't have one. I asked for a direct phone number for a manager. Couldn't do that either !She eventually managed to give me a postal address in Florida and after further persistence she gave me a cancellation number and said she had closed the account. She also said that she would send an email confirming this but it hasn't arrived.
Going by my experience this company seems to have a policy of offering a "free trial" but then making it impossible to cancel. Does anyone have advice or similar experience ?
