Cancelling free trial Myreport.co.uk

Options
Hi, I recently took advantage of one of the "free trial" credit reports from Myreport.co.uk. I sent an email cancelling immediately after I received the report.

I had an email from Myreport this morning activating my account and I replied again pointing out that I had cancelled on the 17th Jan.

I also phoned my bank and was told that there was a DD to myreport waiting to come out of my account. This has been put on hold until I speak to the disputes team on Monday.

I have now looked through my emails and noticed the the email I sent was bounced back. I have sent 2 further emails this morning and they have also bounced back.

I then phoned the customer service number they provided which claimed to provide a service 7 days a week 8.00 am to midnight.
After listening to over 10 minutes of spiel and muzak I got through to a woman who sounded as if she had just got up. She informed me that I should really call within business hours. Apparently she was in Florida and it was 6.00 am there. She told me that you couldn't cancel by email. I asked to speak to a manager. She said it was too early for the supervisors and managers and I should call back in a few hours time.

I then asked for an email address for a manager - she said she didn't have one. I asked for a phone number for a manager - ditto.
She eventually managed to dredge op a postal address in Florida.

After further persistence she said that she would cancel the account and gave me a cancellation number. She also said she would send an email confirming the cancellation. This has not arrived.

Going by my experience this company seems to offer a "free" product but the make it impossible for you to cancel easily. I hope that I don't have to pay anything but at least if I do it will only be £19.95. I am furious ! Does anyone have advice or experience of this sort of thing ?

"How do I cancel my membership?
To cancel your membership, you may do so at any time by contacting our Customer Service Representatives at (0) 808 134 9876. We are available to assist you 7 days a week, 8:00AM - Midnight (GMT). Please have your membership information ready to ensure a smooth experience."

Sorry, I feel your pain but the cancellation procedure is quite clearly stated in the FAQ section on the website, so I think you'll have to pay the £19.95.

All of the credit report companies do it like this so that they can try and talk you into staying. I had to ring up and cancel both Experian and Equifax.
