Holiday Inn Theatreland Glasgow - any tips?

Options
I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Theatreland Glasgow for four nights at the end of Feb and I was wondering if anyone had any tips/advice for staying there. I'm there for work so will be working all day and studying in the evening. I'm sure I read somewhere that you get free access to a local gym but can't remember where I saw that. Also heard that from Jan 2014 onwards you get free wifi - has anyone used the wifi at the Holiday Inn - is it good enough for Skype? Any good but cheap places to eat within walking distance? Any tips/advice greatly appreciated.

    no where is really cheap

    I used
wetherspoon henglars circus is a short walk.
(cheaper than the nearer one counting house)

wee curry house is just round the corner.

Mother India den is good but a 20min walk near the main museum and a brew dog.

sub way to west end a few option there.

    chain options close.
bere hella(sp) does nice pizza but always on 2-4-1.

stayed for 2 night WiFi was ok

Ho much time will you have free?

It is very wee, so can fill up also they don't do Nan, roti are good.
Buccleuch Street one is handy for the hotel, if you need to do a quick dinner and work in the evening.

The Ashton lane one is near the hillhead subway stop(your hotel is near cowcaddens 3 stops 6 mins)

    Also check what's on at

Another place I liked(ok prices) was also near Hillhead (good retro clothes store near as well) was
