  • I have around £15500 to repay, and hope to reduce it by at least £500 per month.
I hope to be debt free by Dec 2016.

    31/07/2010.

I'm still only young and I was only in around £1k of debt at my highest point but being chased by creditors and defaulting on accounts made me realise I never want to be in 'bad debt' again.

Ours is Sept 2017 but hoping for Sept 2015, if we can continue to overpay - and then have another baby :)

Hi, I might be misunderstanding LOL...

So you hope to shave 2 years off by overpaying and having a baby? Is the plan to sell the baby as I think there are rules on Ebay about things like that...

In November 2012 I was £6,500 in debt and set a 25 month plan to pay my last debt in December 2014.

Providing there are no nasty surprises, I will have paid the lot off by the end of April this year.

It hasn't been easy and life has been pretty miserable at times, but it has taught me to budget and never buy on impulse anymore.

I just hope that once I'm debt-free, I can start to save for a deposit on a house.

My repayment efforts are gathering pace, despite the fact that my wife is on statutory pay now and I have to provide more money for our joint account! Payment upped from £200 to £650 :/ so £450 that will not go towards my debt.

The aim from now is to pay off the CC2, at (hopefully) the pace of £1,100 a month.

February 2016 going by my current repayment plans for my largest debt. But when the smaller ones are gone, I'll be adding them to my monthly repayments to the larger ones so aiming for Early/Mid 2015 :) .

So here we are, July 2014 already and repayment is going steady.
But not as steady as I thought it would be going... I had a bit of good luck just before the World Cup where I won at the bookies, about £800 for £2.5 played. So that went straight to my debts.

    And so...

    LBM 31/12/13 - As of 01/07/14: CC1 £9,950 | CC2 £3,747 | CC3 £4,279
    DFD: December 2015 - Total £17,976

Mine should have been November 2015 when I started on this quest. But thanks to the support advice and tips on here I am currently January 2015 and if I stick to my plans hoping for November 2014 :D

Currently sitting at end of September 2014 if I can keep up the overpaying efforts. Determined now! :)
