Anglian windows - quality of product and fitting

I wonder if anyone has any experience of the quality of Anglian's windows and fitting.

We're looking to replace some windows and are considering Anglian. We have a two storey bay window which is structural so we want to ensure that we get good quality windows and the fitting is sound.

We've had the sales talk about the windows and have seen a sample. It looked good to us but we're hardly double glazing experts so looking for opinions of others who might have used Anglian or work in the trade and have a view on their quality.

Whoever you choose, do get a few quotations to help you haggle the price , as double glazing prices are notoriously fluid.

My son once worked in a double glazing warehouse and was told that the salesmen had a target price, anything above which They got as a bonus.

What window system do they use?
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

I don't know about their quality, but they are a right pain with the cold calling and hard sell.
We had some windows and a door from Everest a few years ago and could not fault them for quality and service. Obviously the price was more then we could have got it for locally. But we would go with them again if the price was competitive
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

I have a poor professional opinion of Anglia and certainly up to a year ago I would not recommend their products.

I have not sought technical data in recent months but I doubt the product has improved.

There are better products available than those produced by Anglia.

Poor quality windows, fitting is down to the individual fitter so can't comment on that.

Just had a quote from them - started at £12k and ended up at £5.6k but want us to use their credit scheme 24%apr and you end up paying £12k.

Got cheaper quotes from a few local suppliers
  • used to be good quality I've had them in two houses including my present home but they were in when I bought it .

I've no feedback on the quality of their product but I did have a really bad experience with one of their salesmen.

We wanted to get a number of quotes to have our house double glazed, so we contacted them and explained this and that we wouldn't be signing up on the day.

Well, what expired was a salesman that we could hardly get out of our house! He started off with some ridiculously high quote then dropped it to something more reasonable if, guess what, we would sign up on the day. He also explained (?) some sort of credit agreement, which I simply could not understand. I got him to explain it three times and still no luck. We explained that we would prefer to pay it off in cash but he was adamant that this credit deal was a far better better to do it - yes really.

Anyway, I eventually ignored him and started cooking our dinner, with him still sat there! He eventually went, in a bad mood.

    Never again.

Their sales methods are neanderthal and are probably more responsible than any company for "double glazing salesman" being a swear word.
The salespeople get commission for selling the finance packages, hence their banging on about it.

The product however, is decent if you pay the right price for it. Not top quality, but far from rubbish either.
