Not really much of a trawl, use one or two of the aggregators then check DL and Aviva. By then you've covered 95%+ of the market
Customer segmentation tends to be much more granular and includes socioeconomic factors etc. Plus just because you are prime market for an insurer doesnt always mean their prices are best0 -
All the comparison sites, All the companies not on the comparison sites. All the local brokers and then try car clubs.
Find the forums for your make/model of car and see who they use. Modified or not it maybe cheaper.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

Depends how valuable you consider your time to be.
Many do find that hour trawling the best paid one of the year!0 -
Open the phone book or google car insurance close your eyes and go dib dib.....
Choose one and go with them. Your unlikely to get the best price though.
I feel like i am wasting their time also. But i still haggle a few times. My premium has not risen since 2009. Jan 2013 was mega expensive. So nothing close to my renewal.
This year lots and lots came close. Aviva called me back and got a cheaper quote. My insurance beat them.
I tried another insurer linked to my car club and they beat them but needed to query some things. When they called me back it was cheaper than the price they mentioned previously. So i bought it there and then.
Saved me £100 over my original renewal price and almost £70 on the lower price quoted.
I think they made a mistake but they honoured it.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
