Virgin media lied to me..dont know where to turn

I dont think theres enough battery life on my ipad to write this story about what virgin media have done to me, but im going to give it ago.
1 day in september of 2013 i had a call from a lady with a "great offer" for the tivo box..it was so she said £35 for the first 3 months then £38 afterwards( this was including the 60mb broadband also which i already have). After thinking about it i thought it was a great offer and agreed. A few weeks had passed and i wasnt happy about been over charged for the services i was getting ( wasnt getting charged £35 more like £45) so i rang up to cancel.
The guy who i spoke to on cancelations said i was in my right to cancel with no disconection fee but first wanted to try and give me a better deal. He clearly said to me " you can have your tivo box and your 60mb internet for £30 for 6 months" as a sorry for the lady mis-selling me the tivo box i.e not telling me about my package going up to £50 after 3 months.
This is were i should have got the guys name and the deal in writing as it was to good to be true.
january 2014 i get a bill for £36 when i should have got it for £30. So i rang the premium rate number again to ask whats going on. He said it wouldnt show until my febuary bill.
so febuary comes £45.95 !!!!
soi rang premium rate number again and got a guy who clearly called me a liar. He said he got no notes on his system about me being allowed to have this package for £30 !! At this point im fumming as ive been lied to. So i said i want to cancel as i was already having problems with tivo box switching on and off, no signal on certain channels. He said to me £120 cancelation fee!! I put the phone down because i was so angry and let down by virgin media i had to go sit down outside and cool off.
as i sat down outside i remembered talking to the guy who said i could have my package for £30. At that time i was in my right to cancel. Insted of letting me cancel i have been given a non-exciting package so i would stay and go over my cooling off period and have to pay cancelation fees the works!! Not to worry about the £15 extra i was expected to pay!
I feel very let down and wish id of got the package in writing. I was lied to. I know im not the only person this has happened to. Ive read on internet this keeps happening to people and its not on.
so i came to the conclusion that im not going to pay the bills apart from my internet which i have no problems with .

Virgin don't operate a premium rate number. In addition, Virgin telephone customers do not pay for the call at all.Unhappyvirgincustomer wrote: »So i rang the premium rate number again to ask whats going on.
soi rang premium rate number again
I strongly recommend you not to cease paying your bill as this will only cause more problems than it solves (debt collectors).
If you feel you have a strong case, you need to thrash this out with Virgin. Unfortunately, all you have are verbal accusations unless there are recordings of the telephone conversations you've had.0 -
0845 is in my eyes a premium rate number. If they have recordings there are not going to release them are they? I know im right as i had them on loud speaker and my dad and girlfriend was her as witnesses0

OK, as you have witnesses, I suggest you take them to court. that will get you absolution.Unhappyvirgincustomer wrote: »0845 is in my eyes a premium rate number. But unfortunately, not alter any bit about what you are paying.
Now you are down from your high horse, take a bit of advise. Write what you wish to tell them, including the no uncertain terms.
Than come back and read it tomorrow and put it in better light. then send it to them. That way, you may get what you want.0 -

If you've got a Virgin phone, you dial 150. It's free.
Who is your phone supplier?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
You could try complaining to them via twitter and facebook (polite and well written message will help being taken seriously), not sure it would work but you can only try

OP don't get sidelined on the premium number issue, it's just gonna divert attention from your issue and from experience you could soon have a long thread with people debating just this detail

Well there isn't much else to "debate", it's just verbal accusations which can only be solved by Virgin and the OP.terra_ferma wrote: »you could soon have a long thread with people debating just this detail
