Ritz crackers or cheddar biscuits (the big mini cheddars if you know what I mean) with primula cheese squeezed on top. If you are really posh you could garnish with a tiny bit of parsley!

Pineapple upside down cake with the glace cherry in the middle always strikes me as being 70's as do brandy snaps for some reason.

ritz crackers - now they were popular with either primula or philly cheese then topped with a slice of cucumber or tomato. (actually they are still popular in Chez meritaten as a 'snack'). but being a little more sophisticated these days, the tomato gets topped with some olive oil and snipped basil leaf, and the cucumber gets some sea salt and white wine vinegar!
  • Have loved reading this thread, I was born in 1975 but most of these things were still going strong in my family get togethers until the mid 80's :)!
Primula cheese & Ritz crackers were a staple at my Grandparent's New Year parties as was the foil covered grapefruit :D
