Lurpack Spreadable increased in price

I see that Lurpack spreadable has gone up from £2.98 to £3.25. This price is in Tesco, Waitrose and Lidl so I can only assume that it has been increased by Lurpack. This is a price rise of 9%. How can they justify this? I cannot afford this so I will not be purchasing Lurpack again and I have been a customer for many years. I have emailed them.

In Sainsbury's Lurpak is 2 for £5.0

Perhaps their costs have increased, perhaps they want to make more profit? They don't have to justify it, they are a business, not a charity.
By the way it is Lurpak. I take it you don't buy it too often?0 -
Aldi Norpak Spreadable, about half the price.0
-
the original lurpak is only £1.70 and much tastier0

According to the app on my phone it is on offer - 2 for £5 at Waitrose, Asda, Tesco and Sainsbury. Go and build a butter mountain!0

..... and Waitrose do their own version for £2.30 for 500g
If a few pence matters so much why are you buying branded items when they are invariably more expensive, unless on offer?0 -
I bought Lurpak yesterday, funny you should mention it.
Pay? not me! OK, I did pay 60p x2 for 200g packs in smart silver box.
It was AFTER 4pm in Tesco when yellow stickers go half price.
I think the original price was about 2.40.The secret to success is making very small, yet constant changes.:)0 -

It usually has a shelf life of over 2 months. What was the best before on these? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
