  • Cadbury's Spira. They were around in the 80s/90s. My sister was especially keen on them and still mentions them!

Bacon grills was something else I miss... Basically a breaded slice of ground pork with a layer of cheese in the middle. They still make versions of these, but they just aren't as nice as the ones we used to have as kids! I remember being jealous that dad would get two, and I'd only get one!!

Can anyone put a name to this description of a 1970s chocolate bar?

It was two bars in a packet like a Bounty is, but the bars were flatter and smooth. They were a thin layer of chocolate over a green mint inside. The mint bit was hard and crispy, looking like crystal shards or strands. Pure tooth-rot, but sadly missed nonetheless.

Was it Mint Cracknel? I adored that as a child, it was a special treat.

(Pepper)Mint Cracknell. It had a few mentions on this thread a few years ago.

Does anyone else remember Pocket Coffee? A bit like a liqueur chocolate but were plain chocolate filled with a very strong coffee syrup rather than alcohol. They were made by Ferrero and came in packs of 4.

Has anyone mentioned Dual that both washed and polished floors in one fell swoop. I think it was possibly mentioned early on.

I know that church cleaners used it on Victorian tiled floors and were loud in their grief and condemnation when it was discontinued.
I used it to great effect on my old tiled kitchen floor in the early 60s.

It was fine as long as you washed with ordinary soap and water once every so often to prevent build up.
I believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.

But Vim really did work unlike all these crap sprays we clutter our under sink with now a days and hardly any of them work. I remember working in a supermarket and vim was 19p. Lol

I get it from the independent supermarket/corner shop. Still prefer Ajax, but Vim will have to do.

I remember Eden Vale chocolate yogurts .They had a chocolate 'crust ' on the top before you reached the yogurt part . Totally delicious !

More recently , Go Ahead Goodness Bars brought out a Raw Fruit Bar about eight months ago . In flavours of Coconut & also Cocoa & Orange they were really nice & particularly convenient to carry in one's bag .
They were really great to snack on if required , without causing a sugar rush . Alas , they've already been discontinued due to lack of demand !
