I remember this, a bit like House of Elliot but I am sure it was not that. I would love to look on you tube but not sure what to search for.
Could it have been The Cedar Tree or Family At War? I loved the lunchtime dramas. I would watch them all over again if they were shown. I also liked The Sullivans, the story of an Australian family before and during the Second World War. I suppose it was one of the first Australian soaps shown here!

Yes I remember that. And the klackers. Simple ideas that kept us entertained for hours. Elastic fastened together for jumping games, skipping and two ball. It's no wonder there is so much debt these days when children 'have to have' the latest electronic gadgets etc.

and obesity at a young age, because they are huddled over a screen for hours on end instead of being outside playing rounders, hopscotch, rollerskating, building "camp"s in the garden etc etc.

There was another one with more or less the same cast as the Sullivans that I used to watch a well but can't for the life of me remember whst it was called.I spent many a happy time watching lunchtime dramas during the 70's whilst my babies had post lunch snoozing! I mean I couldn't hoover around could I?:rotfl:

Sons and Daughters I loved to watch in the afternoons, and there was another show about vets, country something?

The always thought the Aussie shows seemed so brown compared to our shows.

I didn't take to Sons and Daughters although I can still sing the song word for word! Yes the other I was thinking off was about vets and doctors and police! Was it Country Practice?
  • Yes A Country Practice started early 1980s.
