Hello
I have to value 250 Alliance & Leicester Shares held on 6 October 2003.
Can anyone tell me where to find historical A&L share prices for that time?
Many Thanks

Have you tried Googling the information you have?
Sorry if that's a bit obvious and you've already explored that avenue; I managed to find prices for some overseas shares from some years ago via that method - a few pages in, but it worked!0 -
Try here. Costs £6.

Thanks TIP, have Googled for it but the only info I found was that suggested by Non de Plume.
In the best Money Saving tradition I was hoping to get it for free !!0 -
Plenty of free places that are acceptable to HMRC.
I used two
yahoo and dam I can't remember
I will look for a link..... back soon
OK Historic prices for no longer trading seems a bit harder.
here is an example for Barclays
(not a lot of help but an idea for others)
will keep trying.....0 -
I did have a look at Yahoo Finance but I couldn't find Alliance & Leicester listed - maybe they are no longer listed having been taken over by Santander?0

I have tried a few of the places I use but none still have the AL. data as it is no longer listed.
If I find anywhere that does have old data I will post.
Another free source but not so convenient is the library that keep the financial times.
edit
should have said where, HL, yahoo, selftrade, LSE, advfn0 -
Thanks everybody, I've got one more iron in the fire, if that fails I'll use the LSE service0

There is a section on Santander for Shareholders, maybe they could help?

I work in a library and lots of people come in to look at old copies of The Times to get historic share prices. It's probably one of our most common enquiries.0
