Unauthorised change of address

After checking my credit file I found a linked address which Orange had put on for my account. I have logged into my e-billing account for them to look at my statements, admittedly I don't look at them often or in great detail as I just check the amount is the same as what it should be every month.
Back in September 2013 my address suddenly jumps to a new one around 22 miles away from where I live, I haven't ever lived at this new address either. Orange state I rung them to inform them which is impossible as I haven't moved.
Given it was an address change should Orange have sent a letter to the old address to confirm this or is that not standard practice?
There isn't anything else dodgy looking on my credit file and i'm convinced that they have mixed up account details of me and someone else and put their address down on my account

There's nothing untoward on the account at all, I very much doubt the account was hacked as no one of any interest has my contact details in the 1st place to attempt to try and hack anything, I'm going with Orange mixing up records following the T-Mobile merger.
There's not even any other accounts for any type of credit at that address under my name0 -
CS rep did a change of address for the next/previous caller and forgot to close the screen with your account details?0
