For example, I have (I think) 600 minutes, unlimited texts and 2GB of data and I'm on a business tariff.
Would I be able to argue (although I never go anywhere near all 3 limits) that it is still material detriment? I don't know the laws on that but I do know that I would never notice the 35-40p and the 12-15p increase on calls and texts respectively.
o2 page states "These changes do not apply to business tariffs at this time." regarding the increase for out-of-bundle calls/messages that are chargeable. So you'll have to keep an eye on this one if you're going down the material detriment route, previous usage pattern would need to fit accordingly to apply/at their discretion.
It's been known for o2 to make consumer changes first, then business later on.0 -
O2 won't be sending out letters/emails until February 2014.
Its totally wrong that they can put their prices up mid term
I know its in the T & C`s but the 02 sales woman certainly did not tell me my contract could go up
My contract runs out in march and its only going up 50p so not big dealHave a nice day0 -
My Wife took out contract in Dec 2013 and is now asking why we where not advised as am sure the staff had an idea of the price Increase and she is now over time to cxl her contract she was with other network but would have go PAYGO if know of the price increase the are all the same get in contract for 2 years and tighten the screw so you can not leave

first thing you would need to do is make a complaint to 02 by email, or by post if you wish (takes longer) always keep the responses you get, then and only then go to CISAS.0 -

sadly its in their terms about RPI,
however any price increase regarding calls, texts etc , and your covered to cancel Free of charge if you wish. as it states clearly in the terms, suggest (again if you wish) to complain first then use CISAS
it does work I used them to get out of tmobile contract (plus got compensation(u need to enter this amount with claim) preferably under £100 (I put £75)0 -

But you have to give 30 days notice to cancel and being as my contract runs out in march i will save about 50pHave a nice day0 -

so was mine with tmobile, had about 1month and 20 days left:) got a nice £75 for the trouble when I took it too CISAS.
weather you had 1 month or 12 months left, the principle is the same, you have a CHOICE if terms are changed and your covered under the terms to cancel, its your right to cancel, don't sit back and think its 50p, just think how much o2 get from the millions others who think the same.
but I see your point0 -

Unfortunately that rules me out for material detriment then. A shame, I had every intention of going after them.0 -
Doesnt look like I can get out of it anyway as I never go over my allowance
5.3 You can end this Agreement without having to pay the Monthly Subscription Charges up to the end of any Minimum Period you have left, if: (a) we notify you of an increase to your Monthly Subscription Charges by more than the published Retail Price Index (RPI) annual inflation rate at the date we announce the applicable price increase; or (b) we increase any of our Charges (apart from for Additional Services) in a way that such increase would have increased your total bill for the immediately previous month by more than 10% (if the increase(s) had applied for the whole of that month).Have a nice day0 -
