This is one of my favourite breakfasts, although with almond butter and not pb. I soak the oats overnight in the milk which means they cook really quickly.0 -

Spirulina is full of good stuff and protein, and is supposed to have a whole lot of health benefits, and Udos Choice is my source of Omega 3 and 6 to make sure I'm getting enough.
It's been a few years since I researched this so I might be way out, but isn't omega 6 the one most people already get too much of because it's in things like vegetable oil, and since it's the ratio between 3 and 6 that's important, you'd be better off only supplementing Omega 3?
From what I remember, it should ideally be from fish or algae rather than flaxseed, too. Something to do with how your body can use it.

The ratios in Udos Choice are deliberately so that they compliment each other. The idea is that because it contains a 2:1 ratio of 3 and 6 respectively, when combined with our diets which are already assumed to contain omega 6, it should bring the ratio close to 1:1.
There are some pretty good articles on the udos choice website that explain this better, and also suggest that the pollution in the sea makes fish oils a little bit less desirable because the process of trying to filter out the polutants can damage the fatty acids and mean you're not getting the goodness you think you are.
I can't claim to be an expert, but I feel pretty confident about the science behind it so I'll stick with it personally!LBM moment Nov 2013

The average Western diet usually contains approx 15-20 times more omega 6 than omega 3 fatty acids. For general health, there should be a balance between omega 6 and omega 3 and the ratio should be somewhere between 2:1 and 4:1 O6 to O3. The average diet provides plenty of omega 6 fatty acids so supplements are usually not necessary unless you're treating a specific condition such as eczema or psoriasis, arthritis or diabetes. If you suffer from seizures you shouldn't supplement as primrose oil has been known to trigger seizures. It can also adversely interact with certain medications so you should always seek medical advice before taking.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0 -

Can I ask, where do you get your Almond butter? I haven't seen it before.
I'd also be interested in knowing if anyone has seen coconut and/or almond flour?0 -

Thanks Terra
Gosh that Almond Butter is definitely too expensive for me, i'll give the recipe a try instead. My sister did me a food hamper a few Christmas' ago so I have loads of lovely glass jars to keep stuff in too
If anyone is interested, Tesco are doing the Alpro 1ltr Almond and Hazelnut milks (as well as soya) for £3 for 3. They are normally about £1.50 each, so a good deal
I think the Alpro Organic Soya milk was in that deal too, so ever better. I don't drink soya milk, but the Hazelnut and Almond milks will be well used in our house

An interesting link to The Wholegrain Council. Have added it to the 1st post:

The almond butter would probably last quite a while, you wouldnt need that much of it.
I eat a lot of peanut butter, the value stuff does me fine though.0 -
They do 1kg tubs of PB online or in H&B for about £5 and it's 100% peanuts, no added nasties such as palm oil, sunflower oil, sugar and salt.
Meridian do a good range of other nut butters too. I've got almond, cashew and hazelnut.“You can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all of the time, but you can never please all of the people all of the time.”0
