If you like crunchy savoury snacks then chop up a bag of kale, drizzle olive oil over and season well with salt. Bake in moderate oven for about 10-15 mins.

Kitty- can I ask, how long did it take for you to stop craving sugar? I am convinced that I am a sugar addict, the cravings for it are awful. I can normally last 2 days at max without buying chocolate or sweets etc, and this will really be a test for me.

Also, can anyone suggest some 'Clean' but sweet snack ideas? I was just thinking fruit and chopped up veggies?

I've a sweet tooth but found a few herbal teas with licorice and peppermint are good if I'm craving something sweet as they are naturally sweet tasting , puka do some which are OK , but if I'm feeling flush tea pigs are the best , but expensive, but you can get two cups from 1 bag

I'm addicted to mayonnaise and have it with everything, that's going to be hard to give up!

Tea, alcohol and mayo are my main vices, I love chocolate but I like 70% cocoa dark choc so I'll have that :)

So lots of salads, meat and 5 veg, omelettes, stirfrys for me :)

If you love mayo, then make your own as it will have no nasties in it.
You do need a stick blender, though.

    1 whole egg
    150ml olive oil
    1 tsp Dijon mustard
    Half tsp lemon juice
    Salt and white pepper

Put all ingredients in a narrow container in the above order. Place blender on bottom of container over the egg, then blitz until it starts to emulsify, blitz until all mixed and it's the thickness you like. Refrigerate.

I came out of a self-imposed MSE hibernation to post up a review of my first "clean eating" meal. It's from the Gracious Pantry website - the Green Quinoa recipe. Oh my goodness (ha ha!) - how delicious! I've had a bag of organic quinoa in my "healthy" cupboard for about 4 months and didn't know what the heck I was going to do with it. I tried the recipe for my lunch - yum! Cooked quinoa, basil pesto and grated courgette. Dead simple but dead tasty.

I've got some LO cooked quinoa - I think I might try a sweet version for pud! Some honey and dried fruit maybe? Ooh, maybe grated apple and cinnamon!

    Hi All :)

So, I am doing this transition to Clean Eating, step by step.

Step 1 (what I am currently doing)- Change 70% of main meals to Clean ones. As I said in the opening post, I have a load of stuff in the kitchen to use up that isn't clean, hence the 70%.

I too follow TGP on FB and also regularly read her blog (every day at the minute, while I am getting to grips with stuff).

I am going to buy quinoa this week in my grocery shop, I presume I can get it from the local Tesco/Morrisons?

I will have to check to see if the couscous is CE but I don't think it is.

I too am working on this! Going to try clean-eating/ low carb at the beginning of February. I don't eat meat so I'm going to have to rely on eggs and nuts AFAIK for protein. My BMI is 30 so I do need to lose weight!

Avocado is also another source of healthy protein and fat, plus Greek yoghurt (Fage Total) and don't forget cheese! :D

    Hi All :)

I thought i'd share a yummy CE snack that I have made. Basically I buy frozen fruit (Tesco do frozen cherries and blueberries that are much cheaper than fresh) and a tub of value natural yoghurt. Put desired amount of each in a bowl, leave until the fruit has defrosted, and you have instant cherry/blueberry/ (whatever fruit you choose) yoghurt :) Tastes lovely!

This is pretty much what I have been having for breakfast most days; I am very lucky at the moment to have blueberries ripening every day in the garden so I pick myself a handful but otherwise I have been enjoying the frozen fruit which I just put in a tub with yoghurt just as I am leaving the house, so I get semi-frozen yoghurt 'ice-cream' by the time I get to work. Today I added a teaspoon of mixed seeds including chia, quinoa, flaxseed and others I can't remember.
