Jet2 Split Us Up After Paying For Seat Allocation

Hi I'm getting worried.

I have just booked flights in August for myself, partner and our 2 children.

I selected their block seating option for £54, the diagram showed we would sit 2 together one set behind the other.

After paying the seating allocation was revealed. The flights out are no problem but on the return flights they have split us up. They have put each of us on an end seat either side of the aisle, one pair behind the other.

I am really concerned as I know my children who are nervous flyers will not be prepared to sit besides strangers on the flight. The plane seating plan show that most of the seats are empty so I don't know why this has happened.

I can't contact them about it yet as customer service closed at 9pm.

Has anyone had this problem and been able to resolve it without incurring even more charges, it seams totally unfair. I though paying £54 would guarantee we would be able to sit with a child each.

How much is the extra cost to sit together at the cinema/theatre?

Call them tomorrow, they should be able to assist.

  • Thanks I will, I have been looking on other forums, hopefully they can change our seats, a few people have been successful.

Jet2 tend to be decent people to deal with, and as you have already paid for the seat allocations, I see no problem changing them, It's in the airline's best interests to have children seated with their parents.

I got the impression they have allocated the seats not only two behind the other two, but each pair also separated by the aisle.

Something like say seats C1, D1, C2 and D2 in this image:

Hope you can get through, I've spent hours on hold before. Costs enough to pre book seats, a lot more than easy jet so hope they sort it for you.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!

Is it posisble that you checked the outbound seats and did not check the return seats before completing your booking (I have done that before).

As someone else said Jet2 are good to deal with so assuming there are plenty of seats available I am sure they will get you sorted out.

    Yes
1 adult and one child either side of the aisle - the aisles aren't that wide that you can't hold their hand for take off and landing etc.

The only way to guarantee that the kids have no one [other than a parent] sat next to them is to reserve specific seats.

I've not heard of the 'block seat' booking option before but it seems to me to be a waste of money.
Change is inevitable, except from a vending machine.
