Does anyone else's chooks purr? Minee started making a lovely soothing noise that sounds for all the world like a purr.
Big cat was purring while he was sitting with them the other day, are they copying? :rotfl::rotfl:My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead

Yes, some of mine do! When they're having a laze, sunbathing and napping. It is a very contented sound.0

Mine purr when they are dustbathing. You're right it is a lovely sound.
lettie also makes a high pitched whistling/scratching on a blackboard type noise/purr when they are out FR and she has heard something. The others usually take notice the first time and then ignore her. She certainly gets my attention when she does it.0 -
Hi all,
freshstartforhens. http://www.freshstartforhens.co.uk/index.php?option=com_kunena&view=latest&Itemid=108 is a rehoming hen organisation. they have a rehoming this saturday and apparently they have an unexpected number of hens needing homes.
I already have some coming but if anyone can possibly take any, i'm sure they would be grateful.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I can't find the list for collection points, only a list saying where they need collection points.0
-
From what I can gather by reading the site they don't publish a list of collection points. I seems you have to register for chickens and pay for them and only then, near to the day of delivery, do you get told where your collection point will be.If you feel my comments are helpful then I'd love it if you 'Thanked' me!0

Well, it's a bit tricky to register if you don't know if there's a collection point near you, especially as they want you to pay upfront.0

I agree, it seems very hit and miss which is a shame. I might consider volunteering to become a collection point but will watch the site for a month or so first to get a better feel for how it/they work.If you feel my comments are helpful then I'd love it if you 'Thanked' me!0

I have found you the list of collection points here http://www.downthelane.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=75&t=28510
It should be on their own website but I can't find it at the moment. Still lots of info on their pages on DTL forum.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -

No this is not the case taxsaver. There was the list on the site but I can't find it now. I normally get the info from their pages on the dtl forum. I chose my collection point before I made my donation to FSFH and ordered my girlies.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0
