    Little update.

The new girls are now mingling with the others. They're still sorting out the pecking order. Surprisingly, little florence, our bantam silkie x is letting the new girls know, in no uncertain terms, that despite her small stature and the fact that she *was* bottom of the order, she's been here for longer and therefore is higher up than the newbies! She has to jump in order to peck the newbies who are almost twice her size!

Mabel Sweetcheeks, the salmon faverolle and the boss of the newbies, is so friendly and chatty. She's just discovered that my shoulders are good for perching on and having a ride around the garden whilst chatting to me. :)
She reminds me of Agatha who we lost last year.

Agnes, the barnebar, wants to be friends, but is still a little wary. She comes over and chats but doesn't like sudden movements. But I think she'll be ok once she feels that she can trust us.

The legbars, Dolly and Toots are still mad! Very flighty girls those two. As soon as you start to walk towards them, they run away squawking! Yet if you stand still, they seem quite happy to peck around your feet.

It's been a year since we got our first 3 girls and now we have 10! They have all given us so much joy (as well as eggs!). :)

Wanted Black Rocks, but a girl down on the border, right up on Carter Bar has some and she lives in the same kind of place I do, so I will buy from her. I am SO ashamed to admit I forget what kind they were !
