Funny how that works, isn't it? :rotfl:

Phoned utilities company and sorted that all out. Tenant has moved bills into her name (she seems to be a good one so far, yay). For my own reference, if she moves out and I don't have another tenant ready to move in, I need to call them up and do a "moving house" service to switch it back into my name. Anyway, all paid up and off my responsibility list now.

Tax return submitted, not yet paid but will do later.

Goodness, a whole month has passed since I last posted.

All is well, generally speaking. I've started just putting the full Amex due amount aside on payday, which works pretty well. This was a council tax free month so I put all of that aside for our electricity which is inevitably going to be horrendous. I've been managing to put money into many of our annual bills pots, which is great; and I even managed to transfer £400 into the housebuilding pot last month. And our council tax is going to go down by nearly £50/month as we were behind last year as a result of moving house. I should ensure that money goes into a savings pot though.

Build work is also progressing - we've done site clearance now and made the entranceway. But of course it also means money is starting to drain from the bank at rapid speed.

Otherwise we are busy but good.

I'm here! All well, the house has started :j

Just about to spend some time on spreadsheets but general budgeting is going well. The house budget is a bit off the rails though :o

Aah...not entirely surprised. Spendiing any contingency of 30% or more seems to be normal...it’s an expensive business.

    Have a great week x
