cheap tablets based on Allwinner Pro A20

Yeah, I know, but It was reporting along the lines of 1Gb used by OS, 200Mb by Apps, 1.3Gb Free on first power up. There was nothing LIKE 4Gb available anywhere on it, even if you wiped the OS. It does have a micro SD slot however.Regarding RAM ... 4GB stated is 4,000,000,000 bytes. This equates to 3.725GB actual. Then some of the memory is used by the operating system (Android) and running apps.
I'm still baffled as to how they came up with '4Gb' in the title of it. It wasn't as simple as your 1Tb Hard drive is in fact 910Gb useable.0 -
Some of the Samsung tablets you get are very old, with slow processors and, again, low res screens. For £150, you definitely need to be looking for GPS in the specs if you want it. If you're not using your tab for navigation, you mightn't need it though, 'they' (whoever 'they' are) can find you quite accurately by knowing which WiFi network you're on. No good for navigation but will pretty much get the right street when you're in a city.
I'd go for a 7 or 8 inch tab for the money.0 -
Many thanks for the replies - perhaps the Lenovo might fit the bill for me.
I wondered about the eBuyer's Zoostorm PlayTab Q6010 Tablet PC
- Quad Core Rock Chip 1.5Ghz
- 2GB RAM + 16GB Flash
- 10.1" Touch + 2 Cameras
- WIFI + Bluetooth
- Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean
Display
10.1" IPS Screen 1280 x 800 Resolution
**but** I have asked and got a muddled answer.... Does it do GPS?
I find GPS useful with loads of web sites, otherwise you need to input your location.
Thanks, Roy0 -
eBuyer have confirmed that this does NOT have GPS.
Also from the John Lewis reviews someone states that the Lenovo S6000 also does NOT have GPS either...
Back to the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2?

roytom - if that's all you need GPS for, have another read of my post #13 for why you don't really need GPS except for navigation. Plus, if you're indoors, the GPS mightn't even work!
That Lenovo looks decent.0 -

I just bought an Hannspree 10.1 tab from ASDA - price, with discount using online voucher, was £109
(Hannspree HANNSpad SN1AT71W - tablet - Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) - 16 GB - 10.1" Price: £119.00)
The screen was very good but I found it way too sluggish to work with so took it back for a refund...
I'm still wondering about the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 but a bit put off by an earlier post about slow processors in older Samsung Tabs.

roytom - sorry, but as I think, and as you've now experienced once, you'll not get a
1. FAST
2. TEN INCH
For your budget. I'd recommend going 7 inch, or upping your budget for a 10 inch. I have a Nexus 10 which I find excellent, and it's got a bit cheaper recently...0
