I watched a program just before Christmas where someone went undercover and its a disgrace I would never work for them, but saying that I do use them and I feel guilty when I place that order.......:cool:Can't sleep, quit counting sheep and talk directly to the shepherd :cool:0 -
The short-sightedness and selfishness of people often [STRIKE]surprises[/STRIKE] annoys me.
Who cares about people who only ever buy one cheap item once in a blue moon? They can pop into pound shops or a supermarket when they want to grab something they're not bothered about what.
I am not pretending I have never not bought only one item from Amazon but it is not something I would do regularly. Surely competitively priced lines are more important than shipping costs? Why would I want Amazon to put prices of books and albums and films up by £1 or £1.50 and to make it stupidly expensive to purchase half-a-dozen or more items?
If anything they should be making the minimum spend even higher.0 -
I tried getting 'free' delivery to the amazon locker near me. every time i went to order the item and select postage, it said locker was free delivery, then on final page it kept saying £6.50 delivery charge. so free wasn't free at all. good thing I checked.
nothing I could do meant it was free to the locker. every page it went through the price kept going up by a few pounds until final page delivery cost was £6.50. ended up having to get free delivery by hermes who've lost my package (I think driver probably stole it based on the tracking info)0 -
"Amazon closes free delivery loophole, but there are still ways to get round it"
Um....isn't that what a loophole is lol?!0 -
I agree they seem to have really shot themselves in the foot here. Most paperback books are under £10, and they want a whopping £2.75 for delivery, this will make them really uncompetitive. I see Waterstones are still offering free delivery, so I would rather pay, say, £1 more for the book from them, than be pushed into buying 'filler' items or more than I need just to get free delivery from Amazon. Their little plan won't work.
Already feel guilty whenever I buy from Amazon anyway, due to their tax situation and the way they treat their workers, so this is a good incentive for boycotting them!0 -

Same here, very misleading, keeps saying free but not unless you join Prime.
As you can still get super saver delivery for free its hard to see the economic sense, how can it be cheaper to send a man with a van to several individual homes than to send a man in a van to one locker bank and put several peoples parcels in it?0 -
Do you think the main reason they are doing it is to push people into joining Prime? I had a free one month trial of Prime over Christmas and, to be fair, it is brilliant, but far too expensive. I would consider it if it were about £20-£25 but £49 is taking the mickey!
I doubt I would use it enough to justify the cost anyway, since the majority of stuff I get now seems to be e-books for the Kindle.0 -
It's a shame they don't do two levels of Prime membership as the heafty price tag is why I haven't signed up good and proper.
Had three trials though0 -
