3 Mobille phone contract and service

Hi

I am in the middle of a battlew with 3 at the moment as the phone they have supplied me does not work properly and keeps cutting out in the middle of conversations. It worked fine for the 1st couple of months then kept cutting out I sent it back to them to be fixed which took 3 days not bad I suppose but why should i be without a phone for 3 days when I am still paying for this, anyway they sent me a new refurbished phone which meant I lost all the data I had on phone which I had paid for and downloaded but was unable to backup and to top it of phone still has same problem which means that I have to send back again! meaning no phone for 3 days and losing data again if phone is replaced.

Am I the only one that thinks this is unacceptable and that they are not sticking to their side of the contract by not giving me the service I signed up for, is there any chance of being compensated for the loss of service and if i was to send it back again for another 3 days meaning no phone again that i should be compensated somehow.

I am still committed to them for another 8 months roughly would I be able to cancel my contract due to the fact i have not had continuous use of my phone and when I have it does not work properly.

Any advice given on this would be greatly appreciated, should I carry on fighting over this or just give in?

  • Unfortunately there isn't a lot you can do due to the phone companies being covered by this :rolleyes:
    I have had the very same problems with three and it is why I am leaving them this month after a very long and crap serviced contract which has seen me have to get hold of three more phones from people who had 3 phones just lying around(literally) and now I am on to pastures new. I thought Orange were bad when I was with them but as long as the phone is under waruntee(sp) they replace it next day free of charge with new or refurbished phone and you cant really ask for more really. I have found three to be extremly poor in this area of their service and I honestly don't think they give a crap about their "customers" once you have the contract signed as they know they don't have to provide you with phones galore. Add to that the fact that their call center is full of people I have had many problems with due to their lack of English grammer :rolleyes: It is one thing having a call center outside of England but for goodness sake get them speaking proper English before they take to the phones! I will not deal with a company now if their call center is not English based as it isn't worth the hassel when things go wrong.
    Your only other alternative is to buy a "refurb phone" from three for £40 which they offer now and hope it doesn't break like your last one has and although you have to pay what you shouldn't it is better then the 8 month contract going to waste as you will have to pay for it eventually.

    Thanks for the response, so it looks like they got wht they want then, typical, just cant understand how they can get away with it seeing as they are not stivking to their part of the contract:(
