I-tunes question

Hi,
I am quite new to this whole i-tunes malarky,as I still buy c.d.'s,so was needing a bit of advice.
I used my laptop to import a c.d. from my collection as my OH wants some of them to listen to on her i-phone/i-pad.
The album has appeared in i-tunes on the laptop OK,but isnt showing up on the other devices.
Do they need to be synched to the laptop every time I add a C.D. to the library?
Go easy please...;)

In short yes they do need synching - this can be either by hooking up with the cable or using Wireless Synch for Iphones \ Ipads & Ipad Touches (depending on firmware)..

I'm not sure about the original iPhone/iPad, but certainly the iPhone 4 onwards and iPad 2 onwards are capable.
Go to Settings, then General, then scroll down and you will see iTunes Wi-Fi Sync.
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

    Cheers.
When synching, do you have to synch everything,or can you select only the new c.d.'s that have been added to the library?
If you can, this wont clear everything else will it?
Also how long does it take,a few mins?
    Sorry for being a dumbass:D

The quickest way to do it is to plug the device directly into the PC. When it performs a sync - over wifi or cable - it checks for differences and only syncs them, it doesn't resend very song.

Think about what syncing is. It isn't copying everything. If your music is already on both devices, it doesn't get copied again. If you've got 1 new CD ripped onto your computer (and if iTunes is set to sync everything) then it'll get copied over to the iDevice. The sync and copy will take far less time than it took to type and read this post...
You can choose what music to sync. Playlists are a very useful way to do it. Make an iPhone playlist, for example, and drag stuff into it. With the iPhone plugged in, click on it in iTunes (top right) and along the top should be syncing options. Under music, select 'only sync certain playlists' and choose the playlist you just made.

In iTunes, if it's showing the phone information, then across the top you have Summary, Photos, Videos, Music... (sorry can't remember the exact order), you can click on each one and decide what you want to sync.

Hi,tried that earlier, but it synchs all the music, not just the new ones added.
When I select the new ones specifically,it only synchs them and deletes every thing else off the phone:(
    It's driving me mad:mad:

That's correct, or at least as-designed, operation. There is no way, or at least no official way using iTunes, to add additional content to a device while leaving existing material in place, unless the existing material is also in the iTunes library. All you can do with iTunes is put some or all of the material in one library onto the device. So, for example, you can make a Smart Playlist containing the most recently added material and synch that, which will put the most recently added material on the phone. But it will remove everything else.
