Why are solicitors claiming 25% of my compo?

Some would think they only care about how much they get rather than how much they can get for you.
Just because they use a celeb in the adverts doesnt make them any better.

1- Not standard procedure to ask a client for money upfront, which is presumably for some sort of vastly overpriced ATE product.
2- Probably as well just going to a local firm rather than using one of the claims bandits off the TV as all they are going to do is refer you onto a sausage factory type law firm in return for a fee or share of the profits. Deduction of 25% is common place now thanks to the government listening to the poor hardship stories of the insurance companies and banning the recovery of the "success fee" from the losing party and slashing the costs a solicitor is entitled to from £1350 to £500.0 -
and, it being a competitive world, some solicitor firms take less than 25% and some take non at all.
