backlight wont go out on samsung galaxy 4
I took my phone into local repair shop last week as one of the pins had gone and wouldnt charge. i got it back yesterday but have now found that the backlight will not go off! it goes off for about 10 seconds or so and then comes back on. i have been in my settings but cant see anything in the dispaly apart from the brightness button and touch key light duration which is set as always off. is there an easy way to fix this problem or do i need to take it back to the repair shop? it is draining my battery (and keeping me awake at night keep flashing!!!

Is the Smart Stay feature on (if it's even on the S4)> You can tell on the S3 as you see an eye like icon in the status bar.

The Galaxy S4 doesn't have a backlight, it's an AMOLED screen.
What's on the screen when it comes on?0 -
sorry not technie at all, its just my normal screen with my wallpaper and apps ther light is on all the time so the screen is always lit up, normally it only comes on when i use the phone and then goes off after about 1 min when i have finished using it0

Shame, the reason I asked is that I've seen Smart Stay get stuck on on an S3 so it thinks it's being looked at when it isn't.

Long press the power button to get the power off menu, then long press on power. You should be given the option to reboot in safe mode.
It's probably an app causing it, and this will disable them all so if it stops we'll know for sure it is. Reboot the phone to get out of safe mode.0 -
There is no option to start in safe mode pressed power button it just said restart no restart in safe mode0
