I can buy them from my iii ISA, well at least get as far as it saying I couldnt buy one because I didnt have sufficient money in the account.

If you looked at their fund list did you click on the correct Vanguard? Some funds are Vanguard Investments UK others such as your two are Vanguard Investment Series.

Those two aren't listed as Vanguard Investments UK, only in the Investment Series. But they have the same ID number as the funds I hold in my ISA at HL.

Don't want to start a transfer and find out those holding can't be moved.

Edit: According to Vanguard's site, both are domiciled in Ireland.

Trustnet also lists Investments UK separately from Investment Series. It seems the Investment Series funds are registered in Ireland but that wont stop you having them in an ISA.

mmm sorry, I've just noticed what you are talking about on the factsheet. Done more checking. ISAs can invest in foreign funds that have "UK Reporting Status". HMRC provide a spreadsheet of such funds here, your funds are on the list. So suggest you talk to iii.

Thanks, I couldn't find that, I see there's nowhere to list all my fund holdings, how do they know how much should be transferred from HL? I noticed on one previous post, they were asking why the form only had space to list 9 holdings when 12 were allowed - I imagine that's another form maybe?

Just another thought, is completing that form all I have to do or is there a form on the HL website that should be completed as well? Thanks for your help, it's much appreciated?

When I have transferred pensions, admittedly not from HL, it worked much the same as transferring an ISA....

It's the receiving platforms responsibility to make things happen. Once the receiving platform contacts the current platform, the current platform sends off a form to you to authorise the transfer. You fill in your details and pass the form onto the receiving platform who add in the technical bits and pass the form back to the current platform. Then things happen slowly and weeks later the pension turns up on the new platform. Any chasing should be done through the new platform.

I spoke to iii on this yesterday as I had the same question and these funds are available in an ISA, the factsheet on their website is incorrect. The guy checked the back-end system and all Vanguard Ireland domiciled funds are ISA available.

Thank you Sparky, definitely worth me then going entirely to cash within my HL ISA and then transferring the cash across with the ISA wrapper isn't it, should save quite a lot that way. Thanks for confirming my £360pa fees with HL & the £525 exit fees, that's handy to know

    Hi Geoffo,
I am exactly in the same situation as you (with 20 funds in HL S&S ISA, but about £40,000 in total) and therefore follow your move very closely!
About the £360pa fee: should you not also factor their loyalty rebate and which is *supposed* to get higher for many funds on 1st March? (or did I not get that right?)
I've done the calculation for my ISA and concluded that before having that info, I wouldn't know if it is my interest to transfer or not...
