Thank you, I hope I find something again soon too, but it doesn't look very promising0

I had been continuously shouted at, threatened and so decided to stand up for myself, by which she decided I obviously couldn't cope and told me I needn't bother coming back.
Another fine example of how to treat new employee!!!
Can I send laura a hug - fair play to you and you've all my respects you stuck it out, just goes to show we don't always get to hang in there, you done all you could don't get down xx
!!!!!! Why can't new employee's just stop being treated with contempt - be given training plans and coaching down to the littlest thing of being shown where the company toilet is!! really not much to ask if recruitment costs surely, rant over!
just seems a crying shame.
Hate to say it I'm even coming round to asking for trial days now for future jobbies0 -
Thank you for your message of support. I know it may sound silly but honestly it was quite a traumatic experience, I am not used to being treated so badly and was totally shocked at her behaviour especially when she threatened to punch me because she does not like the word 'pardon' because english is a stupid language. Back to the job hunting I guess x0

Hi laura678
I really feel for you, as I know it can be a very anxiety inducing situation to feel “thrown in at the deep end” in a new job. It’s hard to know how much of your concern is a lack of faith in your abilities and how much is that you are genuinely be asked to do more than you have been adequately trained for.
As many other contributors have wisely pointed out, starting any new job will often involve a steep learning curve (some steeper than others!) and if you’re the type of person (as I suspect you are) who likes to feel that they know what they’re doing and to do a good job, then understandably you’re going to feel a bit “freaked out”. I think there may be merit to allowing yourself to try this though.
I’d ask you to consider how you will feel if you just quit. You’ll never know if you could have overcome your fears and triumphed. Think how proud you will be of yourself if you can tackle learning these new skills and processes….
Seriously consider giving yourself a few weeks, or even a month or two, to settle in, learn the ropes (this takes time & you will make mistakes, but that’s OK!).
If the worst case scenario occurs and you can’t cope with the job, you can always leave with your head held high, knowing that you gave it your best shot, and this is the worst case scenario. I suspect you’ll surprise yourself if you stick with it. In the meantime, if you’re unsure about certain processes, ask the person training you to go through it one more time and take copious notes so that you can refer back to them too help you when you have to do it on your own.
For what it’s worth, I also love Takeaway_Addict’s idea of making a friend of the pharmacist. It sounds like she’s having a hard time herself, so maybe there’s scope there to support each other, and a friend will find it very hard to refuse to help you if you’re not sure about something and need a little advice.
There’s a reason you got this job. You must have demonstrated the potential for the role, so try not to doubt yourself and allow yourself the opportunity to succeed, but know that if it doesn’t work out, it won’t be the end of the world and life will go on.
I’ll be wishing you all the luck in the world. You can do it!

Thanks everyone for your kind messages. To be honest it's a welcome relief not to be there, I could never have befriended somebody who quite blatantly was such a bully.
I have put in an official complaint about the pharmacist, so hopefully she will get what she deserves
On the plus side I already have another interview for next week0
