• "Heating Oil Shop" NOT recommended by me.
I submitted my details, I received 2, "we do not deliver to your area" and no price quotes.
So my personal details were distributed and I received nothing useful.
I emailed them about this and they asked that I tell them who the "no delivery" replies were from so that they could update their records.
"It's your business, run it yourself!"
• started filling in the details but it wants to know too much!, ie wants full name address and personal details so they can pass them to each supplier in order for them to give an accurate quote, so its not a comparison site at all, just a way for oil suppliers to have all my details.

There is no need for a requirement for all this information just to give me a quote for x amount of litres of oil to x postcode.

Not impressed

• That level of information required by the site to simply get a quote is normally not required. Furthermore, the terms and conditions on the site set alarm bells ringing in my head:

We do not sell, trade, or rent Users personal identification information to others unless Users have specifically selected to obtain petroleum product quotes from one or more various petroleum suppliers listed on our site.

My reading is that if you choose to get a quote via their website, then they are at liberty to sell, trade and rent your personal information. Aside from post code, quantity and fuel type... no further information should be ordinarily required to get a quote.

I too stopped my quote request when I saw the number of questions you have to complete.

Totally unecessary. I'd rather ring round the list of suppliers myself, get a phone quote, and keep my information to myself.

I am not impressed with having to input all my details before getting a quote from the sites suggested. I love this freephone number to fill their forms tho... 08001380369 ! Sorry you are barred from calling this number! :D (Anyone get something else?)Best quote for my area is from Boilerjuice.

Hope this helps someone. :)

Best quote I got for December 2015, at heatingoil with a £10 off code FLASH-D10 I got 500L for £157.66 today, 4th Dec 15. That is 31.532 pence a litre. (HEATINGOILdotCOdotUK). Because I got... • I've just had a full tank load (1000l) and paid 28.5 p per l.
I have a table of suppliers in my area and ALWAYS check at least 4, then add Boilerjuice and a local buying group I found by searching online.
I then phoned my preferred supplier and asked if they could/would like to match my best price.
They came down 5p per litre and delivered in 2 days.
My only complaint with Boiler juice is the uncertainty of delivery date and the lead time is usually over a week.
Worth doing the work.
• Website not easy to use. Asked me to select either "Existing Customer" or "New Customer". No matter which one I selected it kept saying "You must choose at least one option"..............gave up and went to the other sites suggested on MSE
• I've been using !!!!!!!!!.com who apparently recently changed business model to go price comparison, they always seem to be able to beat Boilerjuice's price, just an FYI :money:
