Good afternoon,
I'm looking for up to date reviews and thoughts on the installation of the Nuaire Drimaster to combat condensation.
Good and bad are all welcome!
Thanks

I had a newaire drimaster installed on 16th december. I live in a 3 bed bungalow and had condensation on my windows when the temp droped at night. In the morning I would clear most of the windows using a kartcher window vac. One morning I measured the amount and 16 fluid oz of water had been removed. My bathroom was also very cold and damp feeling. I do no dry clothes in doors, I open windows and ventilate the building. But my windows were still wet.
    Not any more.
The drimaster has transformed my bungalow. The windows are DRY. Even the bathroom has been transformed - its dry. Cant believe what a differance it has made. would not hesitate in recommending it. Hope this helps.
  • That's a brilliant response, thank you.
Which model did you install? And did you install it yourself?

Hello, glad to be of help.

I went for the drimaster 2000. A couple of electrians installed it for me. They had never heard of the drimaster before. But looked it up online and seemed to be impressed by the reviews. I am so glad it is installed. I do get a bit of a draft in my hall but I'm going to turn it down and see how I go. I had used a dehumidifier for years (over the years i purchased 3) they only ever really took care of the room they were in and a ensuite. When my last one broke in november I stumbled on the reviews of the nuaire while looking for dehumidifier reviews. This drimaster keeps the whole bungalow lovely. I was like a mad women each morning clearing the windows of moisture, 15 minutes later I would have to do some windows again. Drove me mad. With out the dehumidier the en suite was also damp and a bit musty. All that has now gone. Lovely and dry. I know I'm going on but it did drive me a bit mad. Good luck with your choice.

the bungalow we have just brought has one installed - it was very good until the temperature dropped. It made the bungalow very cold and as we have storage heating we coundn't keep it warm later in the evening so we have turned it off and gone back to a dehumidifier which seems to suit better. There have been a few posts on here complaining of the same problem and people have put it on a timer and only run it at night - this was / is an option which I will probably try in time.

It is a neat solution as there's only a grille visible but we have found an issue that didn't suit us.
  • Does anyone know if its worth having the one with the heater element built in?
How much is reasonable for installation costs?
  • Hi Ducatidaz,
Depending where you are in the country and on the unit a reasonable cost for installing a drimaster is between £100 - £250, the 365 unit would cost more as it is a more involved unit. there is of course the purchase price on that.
Likewise if you get a quote for a loft mounted PIV unit for £800+ from an unscrupulous supplier DO NOT use them, they are ripping you off!

The heater element on a drimaster unit is a 500 watt unit, it will increase the air temperature by a maximum of 8 deg c only, so it will only ever take the edge off. If the thermostat is set too low so that the heater comes on all the time they can cost up to 80 pence a day to run which is ridiculous imo
    Hope this helps

I too am looking at having either the Drimaster installed or Enviovent product for a property without loft space. Does anyone have any experience with a London-based installer?
  • Hi onlineid,
You will need the Nuaire Flatmaster for a property without a loft
I can't recommend a london based installer, but I suggest you contact Nuaire directly and ask them for a couple of numbers
    http://nuaire.co.uk/contact-us/

    Ring the Residential number

By all means get a price from Envirovent, the units are no better or no worse than the Nuaire unit, just make sure you're sat down when you get the price!
(ps I do NOT work for Nuaire I just install their products and have done for many years)

  • I have a large detached bungalow that has concrete floors throughout and lots of external walls on which we have no choice but to place some items of furniture. We are currently experiencing a mildew problem, never had it before, since turn of weather last year. I am at the end of my tether. I have bought a dehumidifier which is ok, humidity in the house is around 50% level but still we get the mildew. On the furniture on external wall i can understand but underneath beds placed in corner of two internal walls i do not understand. Do i assume we have either a) a problem under the floor which i think unlikely as surely my carpets would be showing signs of damage of b) bad air circulation. Is moisture getting trapped and providing ideal breeding ground? To this end should i consider a drimaster or similar (had envirovent quote.....laughable to say the least.
