No updates yet - I'm having a bit of a down day .the money hit the bank and is already gone or accounted for ! The realisation has set in that unless I deal with these debts then things won't improve .
I thought the challenge was to pay them off but the biggest fight seems to be in not adding to them .

Another update for me and another £40 paid off
It's slow progress but I can finally see the numbers moving .I have used the cc this month but paid it straight back again .I actually feel guilty adding anything too it -I hope that feeling stays .( and this was only because my husband was picking something up for me and it was easier for him to use the card than come all the way back for the money )
I'm looking forward to the next payment due in a few days because that will put me into the 600s (I'm trying to think of it as a thousand at a time that way it won't seem so daunting).

Another payment made :T I haven't quite made the 600s though as I had a transfer balance offer for 15 months so I've moved 300 .this has come off the card that I spend on so should save me a little in interest .

Have had a very money saving cold for the past few days and haven't spent a penny since Friday !

Nothing much happening on the debt front . No payments due but I like to log in occasionally to remind myself that I'm still doing this ( and to have a little look at my signature )

Right well that last post bugged me so I've made an extra payment of £6 which has got me into the 600 s (just ).
Have checked the bank balance and so far it's looking ok - nearly a week in and I haven't spent every penny .
I have stuck to the food budget this week .normally do a big first shop which I don't think has helped my mind set as I tend to buy anything I fancy - which starts the splurge .
I allow for £80 a week ,I'm wondering if I might do better to split it into two smaller shops instead of one large one a week since I end up popping back for bits to top up with in the week anyway ?

Aarrgh !!! I'm really struggling with keeping on top of things this month .
I'm £30 short this month to begin with as our tax credits have been cut and I didn't realise .plus several birthdays one of which is my daughter's and I feel like I've lost control :-(

We all struggle at times and have setbacks. Keep smiling the first few months is always hard trying to adjust.
It may be worth joining one of the challenges they are really good for motivation and support.

Hi and thank you for your reply georgieg .
I did join the extra payment a month challenge but i fell off it a bit quick ! I'll have a reread through the list later see if anything else strikes me .
I've rechecked my money for the month and its not too bad really .still have 70 pounds a week for shopping which is doable.I've also paid back 48 of a 66 pounds spend from yesterday .
Having a general lack of motivation moany day today ( anyone want to do my cleaning ?:p ) will hopefully be in a better mind set tomorrow - I need a push to get some things on eBay which will have the added benefit of clearing the never-ending clutter a bit.
