First Direct Savings Accounts -Ridiculous

I have just applied for a First Direct savings account only to be told that to check me they have to call me at work on the
directory enquiries number they have - I work in a large organisation with calls directed through switchboards and they would be unlikely to get hold of me - how ridiculous!!

That does sound ridiculous to me. It would prevent me from having an account as I work from home, and we're ex-directory.0
