HP Pavilion 15-e081sa 15.6" - Replace Laptop Screen

Is anyone aware of:
1. A good source for laptop screens? (It has a 1366 x 768 resolution)
2. A guide for replacing the screen in this laptop?
Daughter has had hers about 2 months. Last night she somehow knocked her guitar head against the screen and it now looks like a kaleidoscopic Etch-a-Sketch!
I got it from Currys but I didn't take out the WEH plan. If I showed them it they'd straight away say "Customer Induced Damage" and would charge for a repair.

1. screen should be £40-50
2. is that model number correct?
3. replacing screens is relatively easy, seek out a you tube vid

I'll take a look at the laptop when I'm home tonight, to see if there's a different model number on it. (This could be a Currys/PCW-specific model classification to get around price-matching types of things).0

Can't see a model number on it (unless it's under the battery?)
Anyway, at the moment I have it connected to an external monitor (1280 x 1024, via the 9 pin D-sub connector) so my daughter can access it and backup her files.
Looking on the Currys/PCW website they say they charge £50 + parts for a repair. (I guess it depends on what they charge for a screen). I'm tempted by this route as the laptop is only 2 months old so I wouldn't wish to invalidate any guarantee by having it self-fixed or fixed by an unauthorised repairer (non-HP authorised).

might be worth getting an actual quote from them, but don't be surprised if they say a new screen (as a part) is more like £80-100) plus the £50 to do the job... at least it'll give you a reference point.........Gettin' There, Wherever There is......

Undo the screws round the screen , normally hidden under rubber caps , then unclip the front, remove the retaining screws on the metal frame and see the screen model numberEx forum ambassador

that is the other way to do it, but bod is wary of invalidating warranty as it's only 2 months old

Contents insurance accidental damage ?Ex forum ambassador

Contents insurance has an excess (at least £50), so for something that's going to cost £100-ish to sort, the excess (plus future premium increases due to a claim) make this a borderline option.0
