If you read the background info on all the events, it does seem although he was unpopular and probably assisted in his departure. That said, the timing of these allegations is hard to dismiss as anything other than 'tactical' and really makes you wonder whether the 'cause' ever actually mattered or just that the man who led it gets to say the last word.

    Very sad.

All this program has done is kiss goodbye to the political aspirations of Paisley Jnr. There is no way he will be able to get support from party colleagues to hold any senior position within the party in the near futue.

To be fair he was never highly regarded by either Unionists or Protestants, only a small element in each of those two groups had any time for him.
But they kept voting him back in .Someone must have agreed with him

He is documented in his own constituency as having got a fair few votes from Catholics and there is also his own natural religious following.

He was unable to tap into more mainstream Unionism until people like Arlene Foster and Jeffrey Donaldson etc joined his party. A lot of people also voted for him due to the fear factor e.g. to stop Sinn Fein or at the very least he was a line in the sand to what some seen as a one sided process. I don't know too many who regard him highly within Unionist circles.

I think he was unelectable anyway after his own brush with scandal. Interestingly today Peter Robinson has recognised Jnr's difficulty and has spoken to him but not in the capacity of his party leader or that of First Minister but as that of a father. You can't make these things up!!!

The DUP is shafting the whole country never mind "The Big Man"

The sooner the voters wake up to the fact and get rid of them the better - then we can start to build a future.

Ain't that the truth. Ian Paisley jr and Peter Robinson have both been exposed as the developers best friends. Nelson has his developer friends attending meetings under different names to avoid public scrutiny. People need to wake up, these people are only out to feather their own nests and gets jobs for their family and friends.

My God Ian Jr had the largest expense claim out of any MP. He even had to resign because of paying inflated office rent to his developer friend using our money.

And people vote these gobsh+@$s in year after year because they kick with them same foot.

I wish people would wake up.

And please don't say they're all the same. They probably are, but the difference is, the DUP keep getting exposed and yet remain in power.

Are Sinn Fein any better? Covering up child abuse, promoting paramilitary activity, many members have terrorist convictions - the truth is all parties are pretty bad.

The truth is these people are exposed and we still vote for them. They are accountable to no one.
