    Morning all,

Sky is a funny colour, I know it is not snow but it is def a winter sky and it has started to rain so I shall bustle about indoors to stay warm. Really feel like going back to bed though - this early retirement is making me quite lazy :(:p

I need to sort out my unfinished bits and pieces of sewing - I think putting them together in a 'guilt' box would be better than just making a list, so I can see it.

Hugs to those who want or need one, stay warm and safe.
I can cook and sew, make flowers grow.
  • Morning all

A slow start for me this morning as pain is getting to me :( have made packed lunch and got my daughter off to school. Son is at work. OH is offshore so peaceful. Have to try to do very little today which I find so difficult but I have to or will never get better.
Dad (age 10) has just started knitting :) she is doing it for the fish and chip babies so although I can't really knit I have been helping ( I can only do a basic knit, no casting on or off etc) so more of that to do tonight with her.
    Another NSD here :)
HH glad your daughter has diagnosis and hopefully on the mend.
    Sorry can't remember anything else.
    Have a great day all

    Morning all,

    JackieO feel better soon
lone wolf ooh I was that girl. I was terrible, went through a punk rocker stage, had a Mohican, then shaved, hair all different colours:o hopefully she will grow out of it soon, I once died mine blue just days before I was due to be a bridesmaid for my cousin, everyone was horrified. I'm now a 40 something mum of four and still dye my own hair but a much more sensible blonde, it will pass honest.

Managed to empty and stack the dishwasher, fold some washing and sweep the kitchen floor, have had a shower and now pooped so I shall rest until dh gets home.
Need to do my exercises twice today as well.
Tea is whatever they make for me, have a good day xx

Didn't get on yesterday as too much on:o
Today I have a list of jobs to get through, many relating to my appeal with the LEA. Senco rang this morning and school are fully supporting our wish for autism specific IR as they have seen huge changes in Noah and his difficulties and mental health since entering Y6.
His consultant has written a great support letter as has his Behav Psych.
Meeting planned with Ed psych at end of month and waiting for support letter from his psychiatrist at CAMHS.....so its all coming together.
Noah went to bed at 5pm last night due to his stress levels and mental health state.
    Anyhoo in other news:cool:
I want to try to get a meal plan done for next 2 weeks. Freezers are groaning as are cupboards so going to try to meal plan from them and just buy fresh foods.
Tea tonight is marinated chicken drumsticks and oven baked fries.
I use this recipe and its fab....the fries are amazing and take no more work than frozen oven chips really...taste like real chips though:T
    http://www.101cookingfortwo.com/crispy-oven-baked-french-fries/

The drumstick recipe is there too.
I also want to bake as tins are empty but with everything else I have on today plus playing time with Mrs Milky I may not have time.
I need to find DLA paperwork for Noah and child benefit papers for them both as DH has to go to tax office tomorrow with all his books and self employment tax details as they want to check we are on correct tax credit payments.....sometimes more trouble than its worth, only payment we get from them really is noahs disability premium.
Right the milky one is whinging so must dash, check back later

    Morning!

Haven’t been here in a few days, no particular reason.

Here now though as I am at work and spend all my day on the computer!

OS yesterday included making a slow cook sweet and sour chicken which I was thought was disgusting. Ate a bit of it though as my girls sat there eating lumps of chicken, so thought I had better join in too. It was cooked, but it was lukewarm when it came out of the pot? Is that normal?

And I made cherry cupcakes. Mum had left a punnet of cherries in the fridge and rather than chuck them away (tried them with my 3 year old and she wasn’t having any of it), figured we’d make cupcakes in the afternoon before I had to pick up my eldest from school.

Last OS thing was going to the library and not spending money on books. They got 10 out between them in total. Now I just have to make sure I return them in time. Last time, I was one day overdue and had to pay £2.40! Imagine if I’d left it a week!

Have a blocked ear at the moment which is driving me crazy. Went to the doctor yesterday to try and get it sorted and she just told me to make an appointment with the nurse to get my ears syringed. Nice! But now I have to wait over two weeks until that can be done. So I’m deaf in one ear until then.

Completely not OS, but I have to go to the Disney Store today. Apparently the doll that I got my 3 year is no good and she wants the same as her sister. Can’t win, can you?! She had a complete meltdown when she got back from her dad’s on Sunday over a blooming doll!

LONEWHITEWOLF – how old is your daughter? I can so see this happening to me in a few years’ time (my girls are 5 and 3). Did you resist saying, “I told you so” with a smirk. Don’t think I could to be honest. My girls already think they are right about everything. PS your dinner sounds amazing. I’m hungry, can you tell?!

CAMELOT1001 – damn, now I feel like an omelette!

HONEYB17 – sorry to hear you’re in pain. What’s wrong exactly? If you’ve already said, I’m sorry, I can’t keep up on here, or if you don’t want to say, tell me to mind me own!

I’m thinking of trying to teach my little girl to knit. They say 6 year olds can grasp the idea of it and she’s almost there. At least I won’t have the nightmare my mum had. She started trying to teach me left handed, but gave up in the end and I can only knit right handed now. Haha.

I have something called joint hypermobility syndrome. Have had it all my life but in the last six years it has been getting much worse. It affects all of my joints but I had it under control with some medication from gp. That was until I couldn't sleep for about 6 weeks. Doc thought it may be due to the meds so cut some down and replaced with others but I am now in so much pain that I can't go to work or do normal things. Am back on Friday to gp so will see what he says but have had to start using a walking stick to help with stairs and restrict what I do (I'm only 38 so find this difficult). Am frustrated about the whole thing and would love just to get the meds right to allow me to go to work and keep up with the normal daily stuff that everybody else does.

Sorry that turned into a ramble

To be honest we are lucky here as we have an autism unit and all the support we could ask for... However I know people in other areas of the country where support is sketchy or non existent.
There is however a huge lack of specialist provision schools for autism and that's a national problem.
There are not enough schools to cover students like Noah who cannot do mainstream but do not need learning disability special schools

Yes, a 6-yr-old should be able to learn knitting; it's the age I learnt!:D Learning right-handed is a good thing (I'm a "lefty" but knit right-handed because my grandmother did, and 'twas she who taught me) because it means you can follow a printed pattern as it's written, no fiddling about with altering shapings. Obviously that'll be for much later, when she's done loads of practise on straight-forward stuff, but still something to consider.:o

I feel your frustration; I was in my mid-30s when I first needed a stick. I hope you can get some satisfaction on Friday, and some meds that allow you to do the things you want to.
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

I'm so sorry to hear your pain, it must be very hard to live with. I do have some inkling of how you feel, but I knew my pain wouldn't last for ever (well, kinda, I still suffer, but not as bad) as I broke my neck three years ago (when 6 months pregnant!), and the pain and not being able to move was horrible. x
