First problem I have ever had with the above. It will perform a quick scan on the Sony Vaio XP laptop which I have just factory restored.
However, if I do a full scan, it locks everything up after approx 7 mins and has the 99% cpu usage.
The file that seems to be causing this is as follows:
C:\Program Files\MyInfoCentre\ISP\ISP016\Anmeldung\install\Mdmlmp\mdminst.exe
I have removed My Info Centre from the Add/Remove programs, restarted, but is still there in the scan.
Any ideas to resolve?
Thanks

Maybe uninstall MBAM, reboot and then reinstall it? When you say removed, do you mean uninstalled or just deleted? You can lose a loose goose.
You cannot loose a lose goose.
Get it? Now use it before you lose it.
or - Try using it - not losing it.0 -
Scan in safe mode. If the scan completes ok in safe mode, do a disk check.
chkdsk c: /r0 -
Hi Gyro, no I did uninstall and then reinstall.
Hi Waddler.
Just started the scan in safe mode and that has locked up again on the same file!! It did get to 14 mins & 28 secs though. As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0 -
Have you removed "My Info Centre" then done a scan before re-installing it?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
OK, if it uninstalled successfully, then when you do a scan that file should not be found and hopefully Malwarebytes will finish successfully.
If, after the uninstall, the program is still there, then the uninstall hasn't worked. We'll need to come up with a plan B.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Have just uninstalled MBAM, rebooted and reinstalled. Now it is stopping on this:

OK, what about uninstalling MyInfoCentre? You said in post 6 that you had removed it, but it appears it's still sitting on the machine.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Have checked in add/remove programs and also with ccleaner and its not there. When I uninstalled it from A/R, it did say it had been removed successfully.
Any other way to find where it may be lurking?

Think I may have found it. Went into windows explorer and on the C drive under programs, Sony , it is showing up.
Am I safe to delete the folder from within there? As Manuel says in Fawlty Towers: " I Know Nothing"0
