My 12 months contract with T mobile had only 25 days left in it so I phoned them on Friday to ask for my Pac code as the signal in my house is very poor. The guy on the phone pushed hard and eventually convinced me to get another contract with EE as they have better signal and he will need to send me another sim card for the new contract. Later in the day I had second thoughts especially I know someone with EE who is struggling with his mobile signal so I phoned them on Saturday asking for my Pac code. They told me that my contract now is with EE and EE will have to reverse the migration first before they can give me the code. After spending two hours on the phone to various advisers, EE told me they will reverse the migration in 24-48 hours. I just phoned T mobile this evening (after 48 hrs) and they told me the contract is still with EE..another hour on the phone and now EE telling me it could take up to 5 days...what should I do?????

  • I think that you will find that as this is a new contract you should have a 14 day cooling off period in which you have the right to cancel. Don't let this period expire or you will be locked into the contract.

Ring EE again and ask for cancellation again, also ask that they confirm this either in writing or by email. Just to be sure you could write to them cancelling and send the letter by recorded delivery, keeping any receipts from the Post Office.
  • On a technical point T Mobile and Orange joined up a few years ago to share each others networks and this partnership became EE.

So it is untrue to tell you that EE has a better signal than T Mobile or Orange, in fact you could take them up on this matter as you should reasonably expect to be told the truth by salespeople on the phone although there are many instances of this not being the case!

It sounds as though the OP has been migrated over to the EE4G network rather than just the Orange/Tmob EE partnership. So depending on the OP's location, it could be entirely plausible what was said about the belief of a better signal. The OP hasn't actually had any service to compare, they've changed their mind based on someone elses experience.

thank you guys for the input...To Tony5101..yes I changed my mind based on other people experience but I have the right to change my mind within 14 days...anyway..the migration was reversed today and I phoned T mobile and got my Pac code...Now I need another advice please..I am going to get the one plan tariff from Three, T mobile told me that the code will expire on 21/2/14 so when is the best time to pass the code to three without being hit by early termination charge which T mobile has been applying unfairly to many customers?

You either use the PAC code and get an early termination charge, or use it late and get charged 30 days in lieu of notice.

Use is now, and the ETC will probably be covered by the on the line rental you paid in advance, and if there are issues theres no risk you'll lose the number.

Now even worse..EE sent me a sim card and a bill which they will collect on 28 January...I only was with them for 48 hours and did not even use their service as I did not have their sim card....I cancelled my T mobile DD now so if they want any money they will have to write to me and then if I agree to it I will pay over the phone

Perfectly - it only applies when you are within your minimum term, then the ETC applies. Once you have the PAC you wait at least 27 days before using it so any transfer out means you are simply leaving a day or two before your notice expires.
