    It won't be Bona Vacantia. There is a will. She has been named in it.

    No heir hunters required unless the executor is paying a company to find the OP's wife.

    Firstly if this is a will then she is entitled to that share adopted or not. If he died intestate and she was adopted and therefore she is not entitled. Can I ask the name of the company?

    Secondly if there is a will then it is likely that they have been commissioned by a firm of solicitors. If this is the case then the likley company that is dealin with this will be Title Research. They tend to get most of the solicitors work because they work on a fixed fee rather than asking the entitled heir for a percentage. If they are working for a solicitor then they will know the name and the value of the share as well.
