Sky Hd For £199

Hi
dont know if anyone will be interested with this.
but got a letter this morning from sky
offer is
sky hd for £199 free delivery and self installation. (I have sky+)
you still have to pay the extra £10 hd subscription a month.
0870 600 1530
I would have gone for this but.
I want it at christmas
my thinking is that last christmas I got an email asking me to up-grade to sky hd for £149. with free installation.
but for anyone who is thinking of getting sky hd now this would be £100 off what you'd normally have to pay.
good luck anyone.
cw.

I'm looking at getting Sky HD but I haven't had any offers and i'm not going to pay £299 plus £60 installation. Some people are being offered it for £199 and others £149 and free installation.

I don't have Sky+ and I think these offers are just for the people who have it. It's not really fair as i've been a customer for 15 years without a break.

I'm going to phone today and see what they say.

We got it for £149 from Currys (but we had to buy a £1,300 TV).
No install fees because we already have multi-room & fitting is free if you subscribe to this.
So if anyone is thinking of buying a new TV.........

PS Hubby loves HD & thinks its worth the extra £10, I'm not so sure its all that. I think if you went from a fat TV to a 42" plasma & HD it would blow you away, but we went from a 42" plasma to a 42" HD plasma & I can't really see what the fuss is about. It was good anyway.

I just phoned and they won't budge on the £359. They said the offer is finished but it was only available to those who already had Sky+ (for their loyalty). As i've only been with them since 1992, apparently i'm not loyal enough (I only have Sky Digital at £37 a month, not Sky+)

If we had any other options (cable, Virgin, etc) I would tell them where to stick it and cancel my subscription altogether. We can't get Freeview here. We don't even get Channel 5 on analogue! It's a pity really as we're getting a Panasonic Viera 50'' next week. We'll just have to wait until Sky offer us a better deal.

when sky hd first came out I signed up for it to get any offers they keep sending me the odd mag on sky hd.
but got this letter the other day saying
since you were with us from the start blah blah blah I could have it for £199 but self install. as I have sky+ already
but would rather have it at christmas as I dont have a hd tv yet and then go with multi-room and have the sky+ put up stairs.
you could try doing something like that
tell them you want multi-room to get it installed
then in 3 months time have the multi-room taken off.

phone them back and tell them as you have been a customer since 1992 and consider yourself to be a valued customer that you would like to cancel as you feel your not been valued.
they will then put you through to cancellations department.
who will then in turn ask you why your leaving
you explain that as a valued customer you would have liked sky hd on a deal of £149-199 but as you wont do this I would like to take my custom else where.
I guarantee you. you will get a deal.
even include the multiroom if you want as you can always cancel that at a later date.
    hope it works

    :D
the £299 with free install if you take multi-room is always on offer to existing customer's
but I got the letter this week on tuesday so the offer for £199 must still be on.

    I have just phoned sky on 0870 600 1530
    option 1
    then option 2
the guy told me the offer was still on until next week
and said that if I did multi-room I could get free install with the sky+ up-stairs
all I said was that I had got a letter from them about sky hd being on offer.
I could have had it for £199 today.
but declined as I don't have a hd tv yet
told the guy this and he said
buy it now and ring us in december to activate your hd card then
I said no as I just cannot afford it yet
and dont fancy the idea of having a hd box stuck in a box until christmas in case there is anything wrong with it and I would have wasted 6 months of the gaurantee.
    cw.
    good luck

They did offer me free install if I took multi-room, but it would take me from £37 a month to £57. I don't want multi-room anyway.

I did tell them I didn't think it was very fair as i'd been with them for 15 years. I simmered away for a while and then I phoned them to cancel because I was incensed by it! But they can't do it as it's in my dh's name. Dh is working overseas and won't be home for another week or so. The kids were going 'nooo, nooo' when I told them I was cancelling lol

I was told the offer was finished anyway. I phoned 2 different numbers and spoke to two different people, just to see if they'd offer me anything different. One girl sounded promising but she passed me to her supervisor and he was a damp squid!

it does sound that they know
    as I got a letter
they took all my detail's and got my account up
    and said no problem
I could have it for 199 with free install if I took out the multi-room
    oh well
I'll post it on here if I get the email in december offering it for 149

Yep and the bit that I don't like is that if you drop some channels you don't save that much. Mine will be £65 a month for full package, multi-room and HD !!!!

Has anyone else noticed Sky Anytime, yes I know hard to miss with all the adverts. But on my multi-room set up I only get an option for Anytime on the HD box and not the old Sky+ box?
    Cheers
    Steve
