Cancelling Sky

As I've said elsewhere, I actually prefer the immediacy of speaking with someone on the 'phone (even if I pay for the call) rather than relying on E-Mail or the post.
However, it's got to be a good thing that Sky make cancellation as straightforward as possible. Not everyone is looking for a deal and someone just wanting to cancel should have their instruction complied to without fuss.0 -
Not sure why calling sky is expensive. If the customer has a Sky talk phone line then regardless of call package the call to Sky is free - and the geographic number for Sky is available on saynoto0870 plus I know from personal experience that if you call any Sky dept from a mobile and ask them to call you back. They do.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

Makes me laugh all this spin in the article -
'the issue was being taken “very seriously” and had been escalated to a “senior level” of the company. (Sky) has promised a review of its cancellation policy.'
And we are to seriously believe that the cancellation arrangements hadn't been carefully designed in the first place to deter people from cancelling, and make it as hard and expensive as possible? Bet someone in the sale department got a good old bonus for all the suggestions on obstructions.
But if its getting to the extent that people are afraid to call them because they are going to be kept on the phone for an hour whilst an operative puts the thumbscrews on to stop them going, and it's going to cost them a fortune in premium rate phone calls, it's totally wrong. And Ofcom are right to investigate - should have done so years ago.0 -
Even more laughable is the fact that Sky has been promising this for months on the Sky Help forum and still the complaints continue.Colin_London wrote: »Makes me laugh all this spin in the article -

I doubt the dossier of "anonymous complaints" sent by the Daily Telegraph can be used in any investigation by OFCOM, however. Just another bluff newspaper piece...0 -
Sky have consistently never made the top ten of the Wooden spoon complaints award. I wonder why that is?
"I want to make a complaint!!!"
