    the more people that say it, the more likely the advice will be followed - a lot of people are wary of free AV, when they don't need to be.

    avira free (0.5% better than avast in that particular test), comes with annoyances

    they make their money other ways, if they are happy to let home users use it for free, then I'm happy to take them up on the offer.
