help with extending wifi signal

Hi,
Does anyone know how I cheaply extend my wifi signal into a new office in the garden?
The office is in a stone shed about 30 yards from the house up a slope to a level bit of the garden.
I just have a standard router in the house which sits in a room facing the direction of the office.
I have checked with my phone and there is definitely no signal up there.
I have power in the office already (which is on a separate phase to the main house).
Any options?

Pair of homeplugs, simples.

Assuming that is that the office is on the same ring main as the rest of the property.

You can get versions that act as wireless extenders as well.

hi - good thought but the shed office is on a different phase - would this matter?

Yes it won't work.

If you can't run ethernet (in a hosepipe would do) to a switch in the outbuilding then you'd need to set up a directional antenna or possibly two and one or two wifi repeaters. Simplest and cheapest would be ethernet imo.

Sounds a good idea, but what about vermin???

I had an antenna cable running through a hosepipe in a garden in the country which had lots of voles/mice/weasels/lord knows what else and had no trouble at all.

Using the thick blue plastic water pipe would be more robust but also a lot more expensive. You do need to keep the ends proud of the ground because you don't really want cable laying in water although Vermin Media ducting is frequently full of it with no obvious problems caused.

30m hose on eBay ~ £12 delivered - may find cheaper that was just the first I found.

30m ethernet patch lead < £10 - also not necessarily cheapest or best.

They don't use the internet that much. Also, to prevent them from leaving foot prints on your keyboard, get a mouse mat.

I've used an ethernet cable and a TP Link booster (was cheap on amazon a while back) to boost our wifi, haven't had a problem with it so far. The cable was cheap too and has so far survived the elements.

Pringles can aerial? You'd probably only need it at the shed end.
