Carphone & DD mandate

I want to buy a pay monthly phone from CPW, via Quidco of course. It's one of those on offer on their current 'Web Specials' page. For the DD mandate I enter the bank details in the field where it says 'Bank/building society name', ie I enter Alliance & Leicester. It then won't process the order and it returns "check your branch detail". There isn't anywhere to enter branch detail, only the bank/building society name. Has anyone else had this problem with CPW?

I don't want to telephone the order to them because frankly I don't really trust them to give me what I choose. Also if I do it online before end of June they give me £15 back, and if I go via Quidco I could get another £60.

Is this a deliberate ploy to prevent the payment of the £15 and also to avoid the Quidco cashback I wonder?

I had the same problem with another bank (cahoot). What I did in the end was to use a bank CPW knows (Lloyds in my case) and change DD after the account is up. This is straightforward with CPW O2 online.
